Re: Why did they close Boot Camp?
It has been closed for a while. There are so many challenges on the board you can find the same support. Boot Camp requires more work then we have hands for now.~Lauren~
support? Isn't it time to give some back?

Re: Why did they close Boot Camp?
Although I am no longer a moderator nor do I have any other affiliation with the board except as a supporting member, I was one of the initial commanders/sergeants of boot camp. It was a two week, very intense program with a structured curriculum requiring a great deal of commitment from not only the "staff" of boot camp, but the individuals accepted to the program. Unfortunately, the time commitment from the "staff" was difficult to sustain on a regular basis.
When I get questions about bootcamp, I tell people to read DANDR, 2002, abide by the Rules of Induction and the Acceptable Food List for two solid weeks .... no lapses, no excuses and with no creative license to expand the list from whole foods. Drink water, exercise daily. It is about the commitment.
There are many familiar names on the board who participated in Boot Camps as "staff" or "recruits" .... Megs, Richt, Laurenfra and dozens of others. The offer their "boot camp" advice often ... I see it on the board ... it is about "paying it forward". The advice isn't always popular and some find it too stict, but it does work.

Re: Why did they close Boot Camp?
Rot-roh .... !!! Ummmmm .... no thanks Laurenfra! I love ADBB, but I can't go back to spending the kind of time I once did on the board. But I promise you, I'll always pepper my strict brand of Atkins throughout the board in my comments and responses to member posts.
