  • My Flax Muffin issue

Ok, First off let me say that I've really enjoyed my simple but yummy menu. Bacon and eggs for breakfast, tuna salad or chicken salad for lunch and same such thing for dinner and devilled eggs or veggies for snacks. And except for a stall about 6 weeks ago I was losing quite fine. I very seldom make recipes I see on here but there was a thread a little bit ago about flax muffins and figured that would be a nice change from eggs for a couple of days a week (plus I felt like I needed the fiber). So I had one for breakfast Monday, Tuesday And Wednesday. Today I stepped on the scale and had gained 4 1/2 pounds. This is why I weigh quite often so I can nip a problem in the bud before it gets out of hand.
I guess no more Flax meal for me. I'm also feeling a little bloated tonight. I thought fiber was suppose to help you lose and clean you out but I guess not in my case I'm happily going back to my bacon and eggs
My doctor told me to stop having intimate dinners for four. Unless there are three other people.

Flax just kinds sits in there for a while,so you have to drink ALOT of water to wash it out. I have had the same problem.

This is probably why using flax and the other aids like psyllium husk and wheat bran on induction are only suggested if you are already having constipation issues, not as a regular thing.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Yeah and I was I'm on Rung 2. I didn't use flax during induction.

How much flax was in the muffin you ate? did it help with the constipation btw?

I had the same thing happen. It seems that some of us can't even tolerate flax meal. I'm off all grain, even flax, except for once in a blue moon. I'm going to eat my flax bread stuffing at Thanksgiving. It's been months since I allowed myself to eat flax bread in general. It caused cravings for me, as well. I really loved the microwave flax bread recipe.
