  • Skinny Son

my son, who is 18, is naturally slender. I have always worried about his high fat, high protein, but low calorie (he eats very little) diet. Now, after eating his WOE and reading Gary Taubes, I am not sure that I was right to worry! But, being his mom, I still do.

He doesn't eat many sweets, always eats starches combined with protein and fat. My main issue with his diet now is the soda. He craves soda and is willing to make some changes (emphasis on some) to his diet. I asked him to cut down on soda and he says and drink what? He does drink water, but that isn't going to replace soda.

So what would you recommend to him? Diet soda is out for him. RIght now he is willing to do either juice or chocolate milk. Which would you encourage?

My mom works for a pediatrician and the doc has been suggesting to parents that they limit the juice intake of their kids b/c it is being considered a big cause of obesity b/c its processed and contains tons of sugar. The milk I don't really know about... Would he consider a Crystal Light alternative to juice?
I would rather struggle to do this, than struggle with the fact that I can't...
