  • Low carb bread / pasta etc...

    Anyone tried them

Some of them say 2 or 3 net carbs per slice or serving etc.

and the dreamfields pasta looks interesting??

Only 5 grams of digistible carbs per serving?

    Thoughts??

As with all products do make sure you check the ingredients to help you decide if they are 'legal' for your phase of Atkins.

I posted some info about dreamfields in your other thread http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ad.php?t=50017
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

I cant comment on these low carb breads but I've tried low carb bread mixes from Germany made from flax seed, almond flour and pumpkin seeds with a carb count of 2 per 100g.
If these are any similar to what I tried they are quite good if nuts/seeds dont stall you.
If you are on the right rung for all ingredients you can definitely try them.
Date to reach goal: I don't care, as long as it happens :P

Re: Low carb bread / pasta etc...

I don't mind dreamfields though I was never a huge pasta eater to begin with, so i only have it rarely. It's also not in stores here anymore so not as easy to buy.

I do eat bread, and have had low carb bread but have now switched to a whole grain bread. I find the low carb breads are chewy, and can sometimes have a soy taste to them. I have found a whole grain flax pan bread at walmart with 10g per slice that i buy, as well as a sprouted grains bread that also has 10g's. I have also had weight watchers ww wraps that are fairly low carb as well.

That said, I'm in maintenance. I didn't try Dreamfields until I reached maintenance, and the low carb breads I added when I reached the grains rung, and I switched to the whole grain breads once i was in maintenance and knew how high my CCLL is.

You shouldn't add any of these foods until you are at the appropriate rung or pre-maintenance, and even then very carefully to ensure they are not a trigger food for you.

I have had great luck (no stall) with the weight watchers wheat bread. 12 G for 2 slices!! Doesnt taste that bad either.
