It also has a probiotic formula to put the healthy bacteria back into your body that may be lost during the cleanse. A lot of people would say its the atkins diet.. maybe it has something to do with it. All i know is that I started this after a month on the diet. there is no caffeen and the main ingredient in is is premiium psyllim husks. The science is there. I did my comparison studys before deciding on this product and found this one was by far the healthiest and would fit into my new low carb lifestyle. I'm not doing this to lose weight. I'm doing this because my doctor said that this product is good for colon health and recommended it. I'm also going to start the toxinout program after a month on the colonix. Toxins and built up fecal matter in your colon don't show up over night and get there despite healthy eating habits.. theyalso don't come out over night. this program is at least a 2 month program and it works slowly.. but the results are amazing. I would never presume to tell anyone what to do, or recommend a product to someone with out having them talk to their doctors first but for me this was the best choice and it works. I got mine from the www.drnatura.com website.... if you want to check it out go ahead but be warned it is very very disturbing and nasty, but true. Now I've said my piece I hope I don't get crucified over it.... I'm not ready to die.
I did the dr natura program last summer. I had been on meds for over 3 months for an advanced case of lymes. I had a terrible and let me stress terrible canidia problem. It was not for weight loss. It was for health and curing severe canidia. It worked like a charm and the yeast left. After over 3 months of antibiotics in pill and IV form I was not willing to put any more man made chemical pharmacuticals into my poor body. As a side not I did not lose weight on it but I sure felt better. I didn't lose any of the things they show on the site. I didn't go much more than normal. I still take probiotics. Mayo Clinic had no objection. I also used oil of oregano.
    I hope I don't get crucified either.

      Re: I'm a little worried

I suffered from severe bloating, gas, constipation and fatigue. In all fairness I did the atkins for a month and lost 26.5 lbs the first month. this month so far I've only lost 4 but that is with doing the cleanse. Its not helping me lose weight its cleansing me and regulating me and giving me energy that I have not had since I was a teenager. I know why this is but its too too too gross to reveal on here. But anyone who looks into the product and researches it probably already knows what I'm talking about.

Its funny but richt I think his user name is has a thread started about what is your worst and best feature. I think my best and worst is that I'm opinionated and do not back down. Nor do I tolerate people who are intolerant of me and choices I make especially those concerning my health and well being.

thank you time to shine for your helpful opinion. For a while there I thought it was me against the world.

You asked for, and I have provided you with, specific comments by Dr. Atkins about the issue.

You are entitled to make your own choicesPlease do not advocate such unhealthy choices to others who come here thinking that what they read is part of the Atkins recommended plan.
        Start date: 7/29/2007

        Scale: SW:235 CW:193

Plus that was not a direct quote and you didn't state your sources. So I'm really not interested in anything you have to say anymore. Good luck with your life. I'm done with you.

              Re: I'm a little worried

Starting in 2005 I tried all kinds of these ‘Detox’ things. I went to a MD who said I had Candida after antibiotic use for an earache and was prescribed Diflucan and Oil of Oregano. I felt better and my symptoms of diarrhea, anxiety and the like disappeared.

However I got into this whole holistic thing really bad. In 2005 and 2006 I spent about $4,000 on all this stuff and a colonic. I read Curezone.com and believed every word. My thoughts were further reinforced by reading DANDR when I read about Candida and what Dr. Atkins.

Everytime over the past two years when I tried to start Atkins I would start one of these cleanses. SF-722, Oil of Oregano, Olive Leaf Extract, Grapefruit Seed Extract, Colonix; I have tried it all. Well every time I failed. It was my fault; I am not blaming the diet of the health stuff. But trying to do all this just made me feel worse and made doing either to confusing.

Dr. Atkins doesn’t mention doing a whole body Detox such as Colonix, that’s what the diet is; a whole body Detox. He does talk about Candida, but that has more to do with an explanation of why you are not losing weight.

I wouldn’t tell anybody not to do a program. I re-started Atkins today and to show my seriousness I put all my Detox stuff, about $600 worth, in a huge pot and filled it with water. That also included my Colonix Paranil pills and tea. I wasted two years on this stuff when I could of stopped in 2005.

I am not slamming Colonix, however they are selling a product. John H. form Ohio is not enough of a testimonial for me. I have gone to many different websites (like Curezone) where people wrote of their experiences with Colonix. There are very few stories that talk about parasites being purged like what you see on the Colonix site. Those ‘ropes’ are the psyllium from the fiber. Mucoid Plaque doesn’t exist. I spent hundreds of hours and a couple hundred dollars in books looking this stuff up. I don’t buy the argument doctors are trying to ‘cover this up.’ For what purpose would they do that? Millions of people get a colonoscopy every year and most of them turn up fine. If there was ‘plaque’ don’t you think Doctors would try to cash in to sell things like Colonix?

I take a multivitamin, fish oil and a fiber supplement. As I ease off induction I will use less fiber as I eat more veggies. I exercise and use the sauna at the gym. I feel liberated that I gave up all this other stuff. I still read Natural Health magazine and prefer organic, but worrying about all that stuff will just make the diet that much harder.

Again, if you want to do Colonix fine, it won’t hurt anything but your wallet. If it makes you feel better I am all for it. It doesn’t have a purging effect since it is not a laxative, actually if you don’t drink enough water you have the opposite effect. However I would advise trying the diet first before jumping to a cleanse.

                Re: I'm a little worried

Evermind, I think your tone is a little strong but I do see what you're saying.

Evermind had a very good point. If you (refering to anybody) like doing cleanses, purging, fat fasts or any of those other procedures you shouldn't advertise what you're doing on here. It can really confuse new people that haven't quite gotten the hang of things or are still reading the book or exploring the option of doing Atkins.
                It isn't part of Atkins.

I think it's wonderful, Shari Dawn, that you've found something that you really like and you believe makes you feel even better. That's great, but other people could get confused.
You also have to understand that lots of people come on here and talk about doing a "modified" Atkins, or a mixture of something and Atkins, etc. All it really does is create confusing for new people. Evermind is hard core Atkins, very dedicated. This is probably why they are annoyed by this series of posts.
Keep in mind that the post originally was not against colon cleansings, but a slew of topics that have bombarded the board as of late.
We all become a little group of friends here, and it worries us when people do things that seem unsafe or unhealthy. We want wants best for our friends and co-atkineers.

And just so you know, it is a form of purging. I was told by a holistic expert that I needed to "purge" my system of this and that, and so on and so forth. Only then would I be healthy even with my stomach problems. Mind you, I'm not against holistic practices but I'm just saying I remember that person telling me that it was purging.
Notice the word "purge" being used: http://www.dietivity.com/colon-cleansing/

                    Re: I'm a little worried

I do believe what Capt Lou said above... those ropes are just the psyllim husks... i figured that out about 3 days into the program, but the other stuff that is coming out is what makes me a beliver. I never tell anyone to do what I'm doing.. never have. I always talk about seeing the doctor and following his advice. But if you want to consider ridding myself of worms and dried up stuff from my system purging than okay. I'm purging myself of worms and I feel great about it and my abdomen has shrunk a lot and all the other problems I talked about before have gone away. Like I said its okay if people disagree with me. I definately disagree with the tone people use with me. Hardcore or not. I've had about 6 p.m.'s from people saying that Judgemental posts from Evermind are normal. And its in my nature to never back down, I do not tolerate Judgemental people. I thought this board was a place where people can express their concerns and triumphs and ideas without someone scolding me like I'm a two year old. I don't buy it when someone says "so and so is hard core" like that is an excuse for their reprimanding everyone. Like I said I was an R.N. when I lived in NY. I have a medical background and a doctor. I did my scientific research and I made a choice for my health and well being. I thought I could share my discovery on here because it has changed my life. If thats not enough testimony for you thats okay too. I really do not care.

I believe that Colonix helped when I did it two years ago, however I fell into the trap of doing this stuff over and over when i didn't have to. Whatever you start, know when to stop.

                        Re: I'm a little worried

thanks capt lou. I'm only doing the colonix for two months and the toxinout for one. I'll probably only do this once a year at most. It is an easy trap to get into, (doing it over and over). I'm glad you chose this diet though. its been very successful for me and I'm sure it will be for you as well. Funny.. I never realized you were male until I just looked at all your stuff!
