  • Feeling....strange

Starting on Friday, I've had a really hard time getting food down. It wasn't just that my hunger was (finally) under control, but when I started to eat, I could barely swallow my food without feeling sick. Over the weekend, I could only force myself to eat a couple of times a day, and even then it was so hard to choke food down.

Has anyone else felt this way in late Induction or early OWL? Began Rung 1 on Wednesday and hoping that this was just some weird form of a virus or something.

No, I've never felt like that.
You could be having an allergic reaction to something, perhaps something in the air?
You need to go to the doctor and get that checked out. You don't want your airways blocked in any way.

I remeber the first time I did Atkins (a few years ago) I suddenly had trouble swallowing pills. I had to find a small easy to swallow vitamin. But I don't seem to have that problem this time around.
My doctor told me to stop having intimate dinners for four. Unless there are three other people.

That even though I overeat in private, my excess poundage is there for all the world to see.

Hi Prya. I remember the last time I did Atkins, I only lasted 2 days because I felt so sick and full and couldn't bring myself to eat. Is this what you mean? I realised that it was because I went a little to full on with the richer type of foods too soon, e.g. butter, cheese, cream, and my body wasn't used to it. This time I started off more slowly and have had no problems.

Don't give up. Hope you feel great soon.

Thank you all for your replies. Yo yo, I think that you hit the nail on the head! I'm eating veggies first now at my meals and it's much easier. On a side note, I lost a whopping 5 lbs this week but am not too thrilled because I know that I didn't make my carb counts because of the eating problem. This week the loss may be slower, but I know that I'll be getting everything I need from veggies
