    Re: Green Tea

I loooooooooove Green Tea. Friends who aren't dieting have told me that when they switch from coffee to green tea they have dropped a few pounds. Could be that they were putting cream and sugar in their coffee, and drinking the green tea plain, which resulted in reduction in calorie intake. I have no idea, but I just love the taste.

No, green tea wont help you to lose weight. But it has TONS of health benefits ( loads of antioxidants included). Yes it is very high on caffeine content too, so if you dont want it you can use caffeine-free variety.

I drink green tea every day, 3 times a day, for at least 25 years.

        Re: Green Tea

They probably meant that it assists with the metabolism of fat, conversion to energy that is. There is some proof to that, but green tea is not a silver bullet that you *should* include each day. The effect is not in and of itself a key to weight loss. It's only one of a number of influences you could choose in your diet.

Here's basically what I'm doing to average a 2-4lb loss each week:
        • Free Weights M, W, F 40 minutes
        • Cardio T, Th, S 90 minutes
        • Average Intake=1300-1400 Average Expenditure=3200
        • Low sodium (attempting - it's really tricky!)
        • Grazing Approach
        • Use of vitamins and whey protein isolate

            Re: Green Tea

Does green tea on an empty stomach make anyone else queasy? I had a lovely big cup yesterday after reading this thread, and then got a little nauseous. This is not the first time that has happened to me. Neither coffee, nor black tea do the same thing, though I drink them both with cream. Is it just me?

              Re: Green Tea

I started drinking green tea a few weeks ago, and I still loose weight. I use to be an avid coffee drinker, so I had to have something hot in the morning. it's decaf of course.
