Thanks, very much! I had never heard Dr. Atkins voice and he sounds totally different than I imagined! No New York accent at all! I know he wasn't born in New York, but he spent the major part of his adult life there. Excellent interview! Should be a sticky!

I just started my slow download ... mine's always slow except when I bring my laptop to the coffeeshop or library. If you're often on a slow connection, consider getting free software from www.freedownloadmanager.org ... which can (usually) restart interrupted downloads without losing the portion you already got.

Some hours from now, I look forward to listening to this, myself! Thanks for the pointer.

It made really interesting listening. Dr A gave as good as he got, I thought. And it was nice to finally hear the voice of the man who changed my life (well, one of them!! Lol)

I haven't finished listening to the podcast, but thank you for submitting it. Dr. MacDougall lives here in Northern California, and espouses the ultra low-fat WOE to counteract heart disease. His diet makes me want to gobble up the entire contents of my refrigerator! It is chronic starvation, which I know I can't live with the rest of my life.

I like Dr. Atkins' response to the question about how two diametrically opposed diets can have the same effect on people. He said, "Do you want to go to Southeast Asia? You can fly east or west, and you will still get there."

Atkins seems to be holding his own in the interview (although MacDougall managed to sneak in "ketoacidosis" rather than "ketosis" in one question), and I can't wait to finish it later. Thanks again!

Thanks a bunch, Elizellen. This is great!! For me, the most important part of the whole program was right at the beginning when Dr. A said ONE DIET DOES NOT FIT ALL. The USDA and their food pyramid is doing a great disservice to Americans by trying to tell us it does. I know I have hereditary problems with insulin metabloism and this diet (in terms of a lifetime way of eating) works for me. For those who don't agree, as Atkins comments, if what they are doing works for them, keep doing it.
