I am getting so tired of hearing these eroneous reports!!
My local TV news in Philadelphia, just reported that another study has revealed how Atkins/South Beach and Ornish diets (especially Atkins) contribute to heart disease because they raise cholesterol numbers in just one month.
Although this might be true (after one month), they fail to recognize how they drop after a few. Maybe it does raise temporarily after a month while your body is adjusting to this WOE, but the study is irresponsible to not report what happens just after 6 months.
I have just contacted the station commenting on the un-fairness of such a report when there are countless people (me included) whose cholesterol numbers go down dramatically.
I asked them to follow up their story (in fairness) with a report on the dramtic decline in cholesterol numbers, after 6 months to a year, in people that follow Atkins properly.
