  • Ewww... SWEETS!!!

I've been on induction since Sept 16th of this year and I've been doing really great with it. This is my second time around, I lost a ton of weight in 2004 but it crept back up almost to where it was before I started, but I'm back on track now and glad about it.

I've found that my tastes for food have changed a LOT in the past almost two months that I've been back on, and I'm wondering if this happens to anyone else?

Anytime I taste something sweet it just tastes nasty to me. Doesn't matter if it's a diet soda, a piece of low carb cheesecake, or a sugar free candy.... whatever it is, it just makes me want to spit it out. I had a little taste of each of those three this past weekend (after not having had ANY since September 16) and I just couldn't eat it. My tastes have changed so that sweet=disgusting to me.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Yes, this has happened to me too. I don't drink diet soda or eat low carb chocolates and the thought of it makes me ill.

Definitely happened to me! I can't go into any places where there is a lot of sweet stuff, bakeries, chocolate stores, etc, the smell of the sugar gets my stomach upset. I used to LOVE chocolate and now I can't even go into the store that sells the chocolate that I loved!

I bake cookies, cakes, pies, and brownies for DH and when they're baking, I begin feeling sick. I need to open the kitchen window, no matter what time of year it is!

Wow, you two are worse than me!

I don't know if it would bother my stomach because I didn't have enough to find out.... But it was enough for me to know that I don't like it anymore. I have no cravings for the stuff whatsoever.

And here I was worried that I would have to put up a fight to resist temptation when I go visit my family for Thanksgiving next week.... I don't even have any temptation!!

Don't complain LOL. Ive been on Atkins since June and I'm still strugling with cravings every day. I'm waiting for the day when I can say I no longer want sweets!

Sweet doesn't make me sick, but I notice that the most average things taste sweeter to me....ya' know, like tomatoes and kohlrabi....food that has natural sugars, but never really tasted sweet to me "off atkins".
