Hi Greg, you might want to contact Johns Hopkins University Hospital Department of Neurology if you want to try a ketogenic diet for your epilepsy. A couple of years ago, the director posted a thread here looking for volunteers from around the country.
From what I understand, Hopkins doesn't use Atkins, but a more strict ketogenic diet. And there is historical evidence that it does help with epilepsy because they used to use ketogenic diets in the 1930s for epilepsy.
But again, contact Hopkins to see if they can help you out. At the very least, you should inform your neurologist so that he/she can help you taper your medications while you do this.
