  • Morning Nausea

I know the effect of Ketosis very well, but it has been so long since being in this metabolic state that I forgot how nauseated I feel in the morning when I think about food.

I have NEVER been much of a breakfast eater, but now the idea of eating breakfast really is out the window.

Should I try to "force" myself to eat something the moment I get up, or should I wait about two hours until I actually have a desire to consume some food?

    Thanks for the advice.

they say u should eat somthing to get everything going but if ur feeling like ur gonna be sick that wouldnt help much...imost of the time i eat maybe after an hr of waking up...usually get water in me right away though...even if its not breakfast food u want or have a taste for ..just grab a peice of cheese or sumthing small...good luck hope u feel better!

      Re: Morning Nausea

Well, since I usually wake up around 4:30 am, I never feel like eating right away!

I have a cup of coffee with half and half, and that staves off hunger without making me feel uncomfortable until proper breakfast time, around 7:00 am.

I do feel, though, that people have their own body rhythms, and you should be in tune to yours. If you don't feel like eating, don't force it. This is a lifetime adjustment for all of us.

        Re: Morning Nausea

I eat ONLY when my tummy is growling. I don't care about those lectures about eating first thing in the morning. I cannot do it. I do not force foods. With my OWL plan I tend to eat about 6 small meals all day. Starting at noon.

I can't eat first thing in the morning either. I'll have a cup of coffee with some heavy cream, and about 2 hours late, have my first meal. If I try to eat sooner, I get queasy.
