    Re: Not losing help....

Thanks everyone for your help. I've increased my food intake by adding a mock danish as an after dinner treat and since doing that I've lost 2 pounds Guess I wasn't eating enough calories?

Thanks for the encouragement. I have been taking measurements weekly. Since starting I have lost 3" on my chest, 3" on my waist and 3" on my hips.

I'm in this for the long run...and I'm feel even more determined now that I'm losing again.

        Re: Not losing help....

Do you have any food allergies? Did you add anything new to your diet? You might be allergic to something you're eating which will make you gain weight. I stalled for almost 3 weeks after induction. The culprit: flax oil. It was affecting my thyroid (have hypothyroidism). Try taking something out of your diet that you think might be the culprit for at least 3 days (will need that long to get it out of your system) and then reintroduce it back into your diet to see what happens. You might also want to consider that muscle does weigh more than fat and that the weight gain might just be added muscle.

My fingers are crossed that you find your solution soon.

Re: Not losing help.... Scale Sabotage

          Hi Tiggs --

This is my tenth (or something like that) time doing the WOE in my life. Something's different for me, though, and the way I can tell is that I stayed the course during Thanksgiving.

I have finally decided to try listening to the people on the board who have begged me time and time again to stop weighing myself.

I did not weigh when I started (who cares if I know EXACTLY how much I weighed, as long as I know the range...), and have not weighed or measured myself yet.

I think what it's done for me is turned this from a "diet" into a way of life. What I say to myself is, "this is how I eat," not, "this is how I eat for a proscribed/prescribed period of time, during which I weigh and measure myself constantly to 'see' what's 'happening'" -- as if there is some end result.

I think that this time around there is no end result because there is no end -- there is only continued vigilance.

There is no going "off" because it is not linear -- only a life process like any other.

This is a way of doing it that I have never tried.

When I quit smoking. 10.5 years ago, I changed my internal monologue from, "I have to quit smoking" to "I'm not a smoker."

          And I'm not!

          Take care,

              Re: Not losing help....

I just wanted to say thanks to Tiggs for posting this and to everyone with ideas, I'm in the very same boat, or I was till this week. I lost tons during induction and didn't lose anything for near 4 weeks. I went to rung 1 to try and start losing again. I don't cheat and I excerise a lot. But as of this week I lost 2, so I'm hoping this is a good thing.

And with all the things you could be allergic to (eggs, cheese) on top of not knowing if you are eating too much or not enough based on the amount of excerise, it gets kind of scary.

                Re: Not losing help....

Make sure you keep track of your OWL foods and your menu in general. During OWL it's easy to get sloppy with measuring your foods and screwing everything up. For example, you really might be eating 10 net carbs of something when you think you are only eating 5 net carbs.

So re-measure and review your foods.
