  • Franks Hot Sauce....How do you count it?

    Hi there,

I know that alot of people here use this brand of hot sauce. I was wondering if you could tell me how you count it in terms of carbs. Obviously it says no carbs and we all know that it's more like .5 per whatever serving they have. I have this link which says it's about 1 carb per ounce

Here's the Link for Franks Hot Sauce

Anyway, I'm making buffalo style boneless chicken breasts tonight. I've been losing at a snails pace and I want to check into all the food we eat just to be sure.

By the way there's nothing quite like a chicken breast smothered in buffalo sauce, with cheese and bacon melted on it, a side blue cheese salad and green beans. Thanks for any input you all might have on this!

    Happy lo-carbing!

    Liz

Based on the link, it's 0.9 net carbs per 1 ounce.

I don't see where it "obviously says no carbs" ... your link is pretty clear that there's 1.1 total carbs and 0.2 fiber.

I think she was refering to what the bottle says....not what the link says.

i can't imagine being able to consume an entire ounce of Frank without my eyeballs popping out!!

I think my recipe calls for 1/4 cup (4 oz) with the 1 stick of butter - and this makes a TON of wings for our family and I personally count it as 4 carbs for the entire recipe (just for the sauce)

I like to be on the safe side when counting and round up (though I am usually more than happy to round DOWN with the scale)

            Thanks everyone!

Yes, I meant on the bottle it says zero. I actually measured it out last night and it was no where near 4 oz. A little bit goes a long way! Thanks for the encouragment on my weight loss! Our dinner last night was awesome!

Look at the serving size listed on the bottle. Serving sizes for sauces are anywhere from 1/4 teaspoon to 1 teaspoon. The nutritional info is accurate for that serving. If you go over start counting each serving as 0.5 or 1 net carb because the sauce is made from something carby.
