  • Week of December 3 Atkinites!!

Hey guys, this is going to be an uberly quick post since I have to leave in one minute in order to get to work in time. I'm on OWL rung 1 now and I think it's awesome I get more of a choise as to what I am going to eat. So, this week, as an experiment, of course, to get used to the higher veggie intake, I am only eating 3 days out of the 7 for OWL. And see where that takes me. I'll check my weight on Wednesday, as usual, but next wednesday will tell me if OWL is working for me or not.

I've also decided to take my measurements and see how many inches I lose a week, etc. I am taking them every monday morning from here on in.

How was your guyses weekend? Mine was busy, can you tell? Well, gotta get going, I will update tonight on how I am doing. I missyou all so much. 12 more days until I am free from school! YES!! Alrighty, see ya!!

    Always,

Thanks for the encouragement Einy. I am going to keep a strict count on FitDay this week and then maybe post it to see if someone else sees something I don't. If no improvement this week I will start looking at Candidas Yeast. How is everyone today? I can't believe I am going to make it to 7 days cheat free. Wow. It is looking like I won't make my christmas goal challenge as I haven't made any progress in two weeks. Bummer. Your almost to the christmas break Bekka you can make it!

Oh, Brian, don't get discouraged just because you've only lost 4 pounds. You'd be amazed as to how much you will lose in the past week because of you not cheating. Remember, you were cheating before and now you're a Week cheatfree. =P I am thinking positive here and I can definatly sense a huge woosh of weight leaving you.

As for me, another day of being cheatfree. =P 16 Days total! I feel, amazing, healthwise, moodwise....eh. I'm just a little down because I'm really weird. I look at girls and I get so jealous of them because they are so freaking pretty, and I am nothing compared to them. I only am pretty when I get into the right angle, that's is. God, I'm so freaking, gaaaah. -rips out her hair- I feel so unpretty right now. Grrr. Whatever.

-sighs- But ya, I have my huge test tomorrow and I got paperwork to fill out for that class. Mmhmm, goodtimes, I suppose. I guess I will study sometime.

How is everyone else doing tonight?

I am doing good so far, as per to the plan, this is my first week with 25 carbs, but I feel so odd.. I don't eat much, but I feel like I am eating too much.. I feel full so fast with little food, but scared of that scale.. Feel like I am not going ever to loose even close to have of what I lost during induction.. Time will tell..

I still have the rest of tonight and tomorrow before my scale day as I call it..

Good luck Bekka in your test tomorrow..

Re: Week of December 3 Atkinites!!

            Hi Bekka,

Thanks for starting our new thread!! 16 days, wow I am proud of you! I bet you feel awesome! Im totally digging your measurement idea. I kept wanting to buy one but always forgot!! So this week Im definately going to be doing that.
I'm sorry you had a poopy day, I think we've all had at least one of those days in our life times! But hon, you are beautiful, plus you're taking super good care of yourself which is going to improve your already cute self! I'm always hard on myself and its definately hard to change. I can't even begin to imagine what Im going to look like 50 lbs less? I DONT WANT TO LOSE MY BOOBS THOUGH OMG! HAHA

Einy---Thats awesome that you started exercising, it feels great once you do it! I find its the hardest to get started but once I'm in I want to do the best I can and more... i push myself. You will come to find you like it, trust me.

Brian---My friend, I'm sorry you are feeling stumped with your progress. You are doing things cheat free now (we're doing it together!) you WILL see changes. Maybe you will work and work and then all of a sudden bam, you're down! Keep at it hon, if you want to talk I'm always around.

Well...as for me and my day, it was Loooonggg and horrible. It's my TOM and I am beyond y! Plus I am on an emotional rollercoster for personal reasons that I won't bore you with here.... and all this leads to cravings galore! OMG I could eat chocolate all day and all night long on my TOM. Its ridiculous. So far I haven't gave in but boy I wanted to. I had the kids in the car ready to go get fast food for JUST THEM (at the time) and then I got to thinking if I do go there, the way my cravings are today I would have given in for sure. So I whipped around and went to IGA (grocery store) instead! wow I am proud of myself. I bought eggs, zuchinni, steak, salmon, cucumber, tomatoes, stuff for the kids and I went home and cooked myself an awesome induction friendly dinner! I felt way better that I made the right choice. Now its just about getting off my butt to do my exercise for the day.
I was wondering how much the TOM affects your weight?

Anyway I hope you all are having a wonderfully relaxing and cheat-free evening!

Einy, I know what you mean about seeming like there is too much food. I have had to cut down on the serving size of all my meals as I can't eat it all.
I'm not complaining tho as I can see the inches disappearing (I'm not too bothered about the scales, the tape measure is gonna be my new best friend).

                Goodmorning guys! =)

I'm starving for the first time in a really long time. I guess that's because I didn't have any dinner last night due to parents being lazy and not cooking any dinner. I didn't have time to cook dinner due to my having to study for a test. So, last time I actually ate was at 3 yesterday. Not good, I know. I'll be sure to eat more today since I don't have a huge test that I have to worry about. -.- Augh. Test. I'm taking my time with this one and not rushing through it.

Alrighty, I look skinnier, even more. =P And err, I don't know. I'll update you guys when I get back after my test. I am so tired, I need more sleep. Ha ha.

                How are you guys?

I am still half asleep yawning like a zombie at my desk (nice visual isn't it) but thought I'd come and check in. I am still irritable because of the TOM and all but today should be alright. I'm already thinking, whats for breaky!?!
                  Have a good day everyone...

Re: Week of December 3 Atkinites!!

                    Hey group...

Still hanging on here. It is amazing that I have also lost a great deal of appetite. What a wonderful feeling. Last night I fought the Pizza battle in mind as I so wanted to give in. The last three nights I have dreamt that I cheated and woke up really pissed at myself. I guess I am still fighting the battle of crave. Kristen, excellent job fighting the good fight. Turning the car around on the way to the fast food joint is no easy task. Not sure if I could have done that.
Bekka, you are beautiful! You are so caring and inspitational how could you not be. We see it right now you don't. Stick with us and we will get you to the point where you feel the same. Einy, I hate the scale as well, it stares at me every morning as I get into the shower and I have given in the last three mornings. Sometimes good news, sometimes not...Need to get rid of that thing. INkylady, keep up the good work!

Well, yesterday I went to the health store and bought a product called Yeast Away and some raw unfiltered Apple Cider Vineger as I feel like I may be fighting Candida. What a difference in the Vineger. Usually I love vineger and can literally drink it out of the bottle as it seems to very slightly trigger me. This stuff I bought last night...No chance of that. I took a swig and felt like my eyes were going to bust out of my head. This is good news though. I used it to cook last night and it has the same effect as regular vineger without the craving. Plus it is supposed to help kill the Beasties. In addition to that stuff I have been eating at least 3 tablespoons of Garlic a day. I love Garlic so that doesn't bother me, but I am sure it will be bothering my co-workers today! It is a ten day cleansing program so I will keep you all up to date on whats going with that. I am not 100% sure that the whole Candida thing isn't a gimmick as I am often very suspect of "home remedies" However, Dr A said it could be a possibility so I figured what the hay.

Re: Week of December 3 Atkinites!!

What on Earth is Candida? I have never in my life heard about it. -.-

Anyway, I just had myself half of a huge steak (the rest is for lunch tomorrow at work) and a nice 2 cupped salad with cabbage and romaine lettuce with a hint of tomatoes and Italian dressing. Delicious. I also drank like 32 ounces of water to make up for the water I didn't have this morning. Uhhhhn, my stomach. At least I am not hungry anymore. wOOt. It feels nice to be full again considering this morning I was starving my butt off. I wonder what I got on my test, I hope I did good. It was a long test, took me almost 2 hours to do the whole 200 questions.

Mmm, I still feel the same way I did yesterday, but it's in the back of my mind now and well, ya, it hurts. Okay, I'm going to take a nap and then head on out to see the boyfriend. I have cooking class tonight and we have to cook candy. Oh god, gross, candy. I'm telling her I'm allergic to candy and I can't have it. lol.

Cooking candy sounds interesting.. but hey.. Stay strog there..

I think it is good that I don't like candy, and very ironic that I don’t like the taste of sugar as well, so most sweets and cakes do not appeal to me at all. Having said so, my weak points have always been ice-cream, cheesecake and fruits and really no other desert what so ever. I cannot remember since I was a teenager a week without a slice of a cheesecake and may be around at least 4-6 scopes of ice cream.

So proud to say that I have been away from this since I started Atkins (Nov 13th). My fruit addiction is not bad I guess , but may be not now. I know I will get to it I think in rung4 or so. Really looking forward to that, I just cannot resist fruits like Mango, Fuji apples, pineapples and bananas.

Funny that my motivation has been these three things ice-cream, cheesecake and fruits. See.. The more I stay "cheat-free" the sooner I get to eat this stuff. But meanwhile, I need to stick to every single detail of the plan..

A bit off topic here, but will somebody explain to me what these "week off XX Atkinites" threads are about. I saw one a while back and figured "oh thats for folks who started this week" so i just bypassed. Curiosity made me look at this one....and I can see I was dead wrong. So what's the real story behind these threads?

You are right Chicklady, I think this is how it first started, but then evolved to some kind of a weekly checkpoint. I use it mainly to check on everybody's status for that particular week and go over casual discussions on different people experiences during the week.

Rancher, if you stick to induction and don't overdo it on the "special category foods" like cheese, sour cream, cream (dairy) olives avocado, etc. that will help with the candida. Rung 1 of OWL should be no problem either.

Bekka--I agree, YOU are beautiful on the outside, but it's the beauty within your spirit that really has our attention here. You are so motivational and likeable and friendly and supportive and all the good things I strive to be.

Einy--those fruits are the most sugary ones! Aaaaahhhh Mangoes are my absolute, #1 favorite fruit. But, i'm allergic to them and will break out in a rash if I overeat them. Bananas, I can't control myself with. Most any other fruit, I can eat a bit and put it down and not obsess about it as I do with other foods. All stuff you'll learn about YOU as you go on through OWL. I'm so glad you've chosen to do that.
