  • I'm getting really discouraged.....

Okay, I need to help here. I lost 9 lbs in my first 2 weeks. I am now halfway through my 6th week and I've only lost 4 more lbs. I am sticking to this faithfully. I did this before and lost 35lbs in 7 weeks. I don't understand what the problem is. I admit I am not exercising.....how much of a difference will that make? I am so frustrated here.......I guess I am gonna have to make myself exercise and see what happens.

Post Induction Stall Syndrome (PISS) is very common and can happen between weeks 2-6... have you stepped up to OWL? it boosts a lot of us! veggies are good!

And yes, exercise can make a difference, it doesnt have to be anything heavy, but give something a go!

Second (& subsequent) times around you cannot count on the magic of the first induction results being quite as bright (or those of the time before). You know how rechargeable batteries develope "memory" and as a result, each time they are recharged less power is gained before the battery thinks itself fully charged... I'm inclined to think our fat storage resembles this in reverse...

I hate to say it, but every induction I've ever done has resulted in decreased 14-day-loss-totals. I just finished one again, and alas, the loss was about the same as yours, despite a fluctuation which I've come to regard as normal of up to 5 pounds +/- day to day if you weigh every day, which you best take the so-called "spoonful of salt" with. (Not to be taken literally!!) (Scales can S**K sometimes, especially for women).

Your body has so much evolutionary adaptability built in that repeated cycles of weight gain and loss tend to result in AHA you've seen this before... METABOLIC RESISTANCE.

Go to Second time around forum. Exercise. Hang in there...it may take you longer, but hey, you didn't get where you are in a day, did ya?

              Re: I'm getting really discouraged.....

Don't sweat it too much. Seriously - it's still great weight loss! I'd love to see the scale move more - but it's not as fast as it was previously. So I'm learning a little patience I still have a lot to go in my opinion. But I am working on little challenges that help me - especially the Lose the Love Handles!

Stick with your diet - continue what you can and increase slowly! Add some different foods - I find I "food stall" where I get stuck eating the same thing and stop losing as much. Check the prices on frozen veggies - I find they are cheaper and I can keep them around longer PLUS I can make smaller portions because my kids will NOT eat brocolli

Have you measured? How do you feel? Don't depend on the scales to determine your success. When I focus too much on myself...it brings me down. Try to keep doing what you're doing...exercise (even if it is just walking or sit ups or something simple to begin with)...and focus on supporting others, thats when you boost your attitude and feel better about yourself. Most of all, keep educating yourself on the program, don't get discouraged and MEASURE. It will happen.

I agree with dream about measuring. Sometimes it is 2-3 weeks between my scale losses but the inches always shrink during that time. Personally, I would rather have the inches off than the pounds. Don't lose heart or give up when the evil scale doesn't move. If you are following the plan, exercising, and drinking your water, the fat IS melting!

Usually my scale only moves after TOM which means I only see regular losses every few weeks. But my clothes are falling off me every week. I agree take measurements it helps to get through the weeks of no lose.

Thank you all so much for the encouragement!!! It means so much to have you all here to help me. I have to admit that I have lost inches. I didn't measure but I can see it. I don't know why I am so obsessed with the scale and the number on there. I just can't seem to change my way of thinking when it comes to that.

So let me get this straight.....I am not eating right as far as my veggies go?? Lettuce isn't cutting it huh? I can't believe how much it takes to get my carbs in. What are some good higher carb veggies?? Thanks for your help. You guys are the best!!

Well, onion and green/yellow/red pepper are two.. Tomato is also high in carbs and zucchini too. Focus more though on the green stuff as much as you can.. baby spinach as an example.
