  • Water Intake a Problem? I have a solution!

My sister and I bought this water bottle almost a year ago and it has since changed my life forever. Imagine drinking 3 cups of water in 5 mins! The secret is the bite valve at the top of the bottle and the straw that's attached to it. This one below holds a liter of water. Mine holds .75 liters (24 oz).

It's called the "CamelBak Water Bottle" and you can get it a sporting goods store. Mine was from Sport's Authority and it cost 12$. It is well worth the price.

    • Self-sealing Big Bite™ Valve is easy to use, drip and spill proof, and has no moving parts (You can be completely reclined and still be able to drink water, you don't have to worry about putting it down and picking it back up, you can drink easily, conveniently, and at your own pace and it will be empty before you know it and you'll just want to drink more)
    • Lexan® polycarbonate bottle is super strong and accepts boiling water (this is awesome! I boil mine once a month or so to make sure there's no stale water smell on it.)
    • Widemouth lid fits most other water bottles
    • Bottle attaches to most water filters and fits most cup holders
    • Carabiner compatible handle easily attaches to a pack or belt
    • Top rack dishwasher safe
    • Measurement gradations for accurate sports drink and food preparation
    • 33.8 oz. (1.0 L) capacity
Here's a link to the site where I got this list of information. Make sure to read the reviews and you'll see that I'm totally serious about this.
(for the 24 oz bottle---comes in more colors )
My only warning is to be prepared to run to the bathroom alot!

Has anyone else tried this water bottle? I am in love with it. It comes in all sorts of colors too. I have to admit that at first you feel a little silly because it's definitely a flashback to having a "bah-bah." You get over that quick when you realize that drinking 100 oz of water a day is no longer even remotely challenging!

OK well I had to share!

Yes, I have the exact same water bottle. I bought it a few months ago when my other water bottle cracked. I've been using a water bottle for years. The only thing I don't like about this one is it's smaller then the other one I had. This one is 24 oz, and my last one was 36 oz. I have to fill it more often

Personally, if I drank almost a liter of water in under 5 minutes, I'd throw up. My stomach wouldn't be able to handle that amount in that short period of time.

Besides, it makes me wonder how much extra your body and kidneys will have to work to get that 1 liter processed. Afterall, we have a blood volume of about 5 liters, so adding another liter to your system in such a short period of time might put added stress on your bod.

yeah five minutes may have been a slight exagerration on my part and also the one I use is smaller then the picture. It's true that it feels effortless and that's saying alot when you're trying to get in 100oz or more a day.

The body is made up of about 65% water. At my weight that means that my body has approximately 55 liters of water in it at the present moment. (180*.65=117 117lbs=1872 oz 1872 oz=55.3616476 liters) I don't think adding another liter would cause any sort of stress but that's just my opinion. Also I've read that the kidney processes about 15 liters of water a day.
        Have a good night everyone!

Thanks for posting. I ordered one as I find it hard to drink so much water and I hope this helps.

I am going to pick a few up. We are taking the kids back to Disney in Jan-Feb. In August I just took regular bottled water and found I should have been more prepared. I have been looking for a bottle with a filter built in cause the water in Orlando tastes a bit funky.

I don't have the exact same one, but mine is very similar and I love it. I have no problem drinking more than 200 oz of water a day. I never would've thought of it before, but if you are having trouble drinking enough, the water bottle really does help.

Re: Water Intake a Problem? I have a solution!

I used to work for a membership based diet web site and one of the many things new people had problems with was getting used to drinking the amount of water they were supposed to. This water bottle just makes it soo much easier and I wanted to let people know. It's just so important to get in the water when you're trying to lose weight.

" I have been looking for a bottle with a filter built in cause the water in Orlando tastes a bit funky."

It doesn't have a filter built into it. I suppose though you could take something like the Brita water pitchers with you though. You can put the tap water in and it filters into the pitcher and then just pour into the bottles???? Good luck!

That's true the body is made up of 65% water. But that water is inside your cells or between the cells. In other words, it's already incorporated into your body. It's not waiting to be incorporated like the 1 liter you just drank in 5 minutes. And your body will have to work harder in order to process that extra liter than it would if the liter is spread out over a period of time.

Re: Water Intake a Problem? I have a solution!

My advice to anyone who is concerned would be to talk to a doctor about it. All I can say is that I haven't had even the slightest problem with that amount of water. Nor has my boyfriend, or my sister. It feels very natural when I'm drinking it and it's not as though it's being poured down my throat. The actual bottle doesn't make the water come into your mouth any faster then a straw would. It's the bite valve that is so awesome. You literally have to bite the plastic valve and suck. That's really primal without getting overly descriptive and for anyone who has any sort of oral fixation it's very soothing. I find that I actually get a second benefit of slowing my breathing down and getting nice long deep breaths through my nose.

Hopefully if you drank too much water too fast you'd throw it up before it would cause damage to your system. I don't know for a fact though as I did not go to medical school. I do know that most people have the opposite problem and don't get enough water in. This is sort of reminding me of that prank where you bet someone to drink a gallon of milk all at once. It's not possible. You'll throw it all up. Mostly though don't do anything that makes you uncomfortable! I love this water bottle because it feels good when you're drinking it! I didn't buy the bottle with the intention of drinking so much water so fast. It just happens that sometimes I fill it up and start drinking and it's gone before I even have thought about the fact that I have to drink it. I'm always amazed and it's not at all a situation where I'm trying to do this. I guess I'm just thirsty!

I'm absolutely NOT saying that any person should attempt to drink their daily intake of water in one sitting. I usually have 24oz (my water bottle is .75 L--smaller then the above pic--wish I would've posted mine now!) every few hours, sometimes I take my time and sometimes it's gone within minutes. I never think of drinking my water for the day as something that is going to be challenging anymore. I love that I can easily keep myself hydrated, feel healthy, and get the advantages during my weight loss process.

I don't work for the whoever makes this product and I stand to gain nothing if anyone buys it. I'm just shouting from the roof tops how great it really is. I would hate to think that I was trying to help people and indirectly putting them in harms way. I tried to surf the net to see if I could find any information about this but I must not be looking in the right place. Anyway please accept my apologies if I've alarmed or scared anyone. It is possible to drink too much water. Keep that in mind! Most importantly do what feels right for your specific body, everyone's different!

The only problem I've had with it is that I'll go through 2 bottles in an hour (48 oz) and be constantly in the bathroom after that! Now I run errands and stuff first and then start with my water intake.

                    All my apologies!

Here's a link for the smaller one, it's a tad cheaper (24 oz) however I think the price is well worth it. I thought it was pricey at first too but it's been the best 12$ I've spent in regards to my health. Happy Holidays!
