I was out with my mom shopping today. She wanted subway for lunch. Being the good daughter I am, I just said ok. I passed on all the yummy smelling bread. I ordered a salad with green peppers, provolone cheese, light onions, tomatoes, banana peppers, black olives, spinach, lettuce, oil and vinger, salt and pepper, and oven roasted chicken. I have been proud of myself all afternoon for not having cravings and not falling off the wagon. But now I am wondering if I did the right thing. Please tell me there is not a surpise in the veggies. Should I be concerned? I am thinking it is just the worry wart in me, but I had to ask others. Hopefully, it is all in my head.

Re: subway
I am not an expert by any means, but I would think it is all ok with the possible exceptions of the dressing and maybe chicken. Do you know if it was processed chicken? They tend to put lots of hidden carbs in processed meats. Go to the website and look at the nutrtion values of it.

Re: subway
Checking your intake of carbs is always good for those hidden carbs as what rozigrl said, but I won't worry about it.. I think you did good. Just check the carbs to add to your learning experience and to know how to handle similar situations in the future.Start Date: 11/13/2007

Re: subway
Thank you all. I feel better now. This was the first time that I have had to eat out that wasn't preplanned where and what I would be having. I am still amazed I was able to pass the breads. It never even occured to me to eat them. Hopefully, all the walking while shopping helped with the negative. Thanks again. I knew I could count of more experienced advice and support.Female

Re: subway
Great Job on passing the breads.. One thing I do when I go to Subway...by the way I LOVE their salads..is ask for a Packet of Ranch Dressing...cause a lot of times in the containers they use to make sandwiches they use Low-Fat which has more sugars. But you did the best you could!
