Re: Christmas dessert recipes please
I don't know how to cook, but I fiddled around a bit with making coffee jelly. Basically, brew some decaf and add sugar-free flavorless jello powder. Your choice if you want to keep it black (my preference) or add splenda (not really necessary IMHO). Pour in a any serving cup or glass halfway (I use water goblets). Top with low-carb vanilla ice-cream or homemade whipped cream with splenda and vanilla extract.
Sorry if I don't have any specifics on amounts. I just followed the instructions off the back of the Jello packet and tweaked it to how firm I wanted my jello.Robbie T., 240/180/160. 41yr Male, Height 5'9"

Re: Christmas dessert recipes please
All recipes depend what phase of Atkins you are in. For example, if you are in OWL-Maintenance phases, a blueberry-peach crumble can be a legal dessert.~Megs~

Re: Christmas dessert recipes please
Thanks Rochelle and Jerseygyrl. I am heading to that website right now! All of the fudge sitting on my counter is screaming my name. I have exercised all morning and had tons of water to keep me from eating it! I won't cave in because I have worked to hard but the temptation is definitely there.Taking My life back one day at a time...

Re: Christmas dessert recipes please
Hmmm This is a pretty good idea matawguro! Stevia comes in a few flavored no cal no carb sweetners, that would make a decent mocha jello or hazelnut coffee jello as well. Thanks for the idea!!Originally posted by matawguroI don't know how to cook, but I fiddled around a bit with making coffee jelly. Re: Christmas dessert recipes please
A GREAT recipe is the the Stella Style NY Ricotta Cheesecake (www.stellastyle.com). This is best made a day in advance so it can fully chill and set overnight -- the longer the better. However, it's not induction friendly. I believe it's safe for the dairy rung. But, it is better than eating carby Christmas crap, no matter what rung you are currently on...
Jlyn -- why are you on extended induction, if you don't mind me asking? If you move on to OWL, you have so many more options, and many people find that their losses don't slow down at all. In fact, for some people (like me), my losses had slowed and I actually started losing again by adding MORE carbs. And I've heard that from lots of people. Just something to consider.
Either way, good luck and stay strong!

I get trays of cookies from my customers when i get home i make a flax cookie! Settles my cravings for cookies. The pumpkin pie is canned pumpkin, 1pkt splenda and 20z cream cheese and sprinkle on some cinnamon. mmmm

Re: Christmas dessert recipes please
Lindas's site has a great recipe for lc snickerdoodles, but it is made with almond flour. Another reason to move up to rung three, so you can have nuts. I am another that stayed on induction too long and actually slowed down my losses. There is just so much more you can have by moving up the ladder, especially at the holidays. You might go over your nut or cheese/dairy allowance for a day or two, but it will be with legal foods and that will feel like a legal splurge for the holiday and you won't feel deprived.

Re: Christmas dessert recipes please
Thank you everyone for the great recipes... I will definately consider moving into the next phase. I guess I have just been afraid to move on. I will probably stick with induction for a couple more weeks. Thanks for all the great advice.Taking My life back one day at a time...
