Almond flour longevity?

I know you can keep peanut butter at room temp for ages. but how about almond flour? Does it keep or does it go rancid easily? Found that buying a 5 lb bag would be cheaper per pound, but I don't have frig or freezer space. No point in saving on cost if I'm gonna end up tossing half of it!

Anyone know?

I just tried to find an answer for you but couldn't. From what I've read you can store the almond flour in the fridge for up to 1 year to preserve feshness, I found nothing about storage at room temp. Sorry!!

Hey Cat! I find it amusing that you were the one who went looking for that info since it's YOUR picture of your cake that got me looking into almond flour I thank you for the effort....and the instigating foto that led to it I guess I'll stick to the pound bag for now.

Hey, do check out this site though that explains some uses for almond flour (even has a recipe for pancakes - legal if you're on the nut rung - made with the almond flour that I'm going to have to try once I order the carb-free syrup offline).

I keep my ground almonds in an airtight jar in a cupboard and it seems to last without deteriorating.

I keep mine in the fridge for at least three months (probably more) with no problem.

The blueberry ones? Yes, I'm going to have to try that. I'm allergic to most fruit but blueberries do not cause an adverse reaction when I eat them. I bet they are delish!!
