  • Mini-Me is to be born in 2008.

    We are very close now to 2008.. Happy new year to all ADBBers.

    I have set my goal straight for 2008. Deliver my Mini-me! No Mr. Evil here though How about you? Are you up to it?
    Start Date: 11/13/2007
    Start Pants Size: 46
    Height: 6' 1"

    Start Weight: 285lbs
    Goal: 200lbs <-- Met 6/15/2009

      For me, I am trying to reach the goal by mid June, 08. If I loose by the same exponential loss rate though, I am expecting to reach it by end of July. Will try to leave a nice gap between my carb intake and my CCLL and increase my exercise exponentially as well to try to meet the goal by 6/15/08..

          Hi all,

          I will reach goal in 2008, not because its the thing to do but because i am utterly tired of not committing and being determined enough to find my life again as a happy, energetic woman -- will i be the same woman i use to be -- no, instead its time to get to know the me i am and the me i will be.

          SOooooo my hopeful goal is July 1, 2008, but that is just a hopeful kill myself type view lol as i am trying to lose 100 lbs total..... but what i mean by goal in July is a vast improvement, a dedication that has become a habit and a real effort towards my committment to myself. I figure 6 months should be long enough to show the rewards and results of such committment.

          My ultra goal is this time next year as i am being taken on vacation lol so i am told and there are hints of beaches and fun and sun.

          I hope to see you all along the way in this journy of 2008!!

              Setting a clear and realistic goal I think is one of the most important steps in acheiving it. The goal need to be specific, realistic and needs also to have a date with it (time-bound).

              Dr. Atkins book talked about it briefly in Chapter 14 of the hardcover book. Pick any of the motivational book writers and you will find at least one chapter talking about setting goals, Stephen Covey/The 7 habits of highly effective people, Deepak Chopra/The 7 spiritual laws of success, Anthony Robbins/<almost every book he wrote>, but my favorite "Giant Steps".

              In short, we become what we think. Be positive. Think of yourself as a winner and you will sure become one, think of yourself otherwise and your mind won't disappoint you there.

              That's why I am saying, I need to be 190lbs by 6/15.

              So, what are you waiting for? Set your clear goals and start putting your action plan to achieve such goals. Happy new year to you all

                What a great achievable goal
                I love goals stated like this as they are ones we can control, rather than weightloss numbers/dates which we cant control!

                F/60 yrs/5ft 5.5" (Though due to collapsing vertebrae I am now only 5'3" - but I refuse to recalculate my BMI )
