  • Claiming my first victory!

I have just reached my first goal today. WOW, I cannot believe I did it. What an amazing feeling!! Took me exactly 45 days (not counting the first two days I wasn't doing induction right). So, I thought of starting a topic to share the experience with this great forum members who have been a big part of this milestone.

Total 22% of the weight I needed to loose in 45 days. This is an average of 0.44lbs/day and 3.11lbs/week. Other stats worth mentioning here aside from the ones listed in my signature.

    - Started this WOE before getting the book, which cost me many mistakes during my 45 days journey. Things like drinking a low carb (1carb) fruit juice during induction, eating carrots, etc.

    - If I don't count the mistakes, I have never cheated so far (I hope I can keep it this way). And since I am done with reading the book cover to cover (twice so far), my learning curve is getting better every day.

    - Lost only 8lbs during my 14-days induction, which puts me among the high metabolic resistant group. The amazing part about this WOE is that it doesn’t really matter how resistant you are, you can still loose the same lbs as a low resistant person, all u need to do is just eat less carbs/day and move little slower.

    - I am currently in my OWL1 rung and plan to move to WOL2 Tuesday 1/1/08. Slow but sure.

    - Haven’t accurately defined my CCLL yet, I went up to 25 carbs/day and stalled for one week. As per to Dr. Atkins, you are not considered stalled till you stop losing weight for at least 4 weeks in a row with no changes in your measurements. So, my one week stall is not considered a stall, but I was impatient to wait and see, I dropped my carbs intake right away back to 15-20 carbs/day.

    - I use Fitday in tracking my WOE and my nutrition intake. Been supplementing the shortcomings there mainly using the NutriSlim Low Carb Dieter’s BASIC Multi-Vitamin Version 2" and "TwinLab Calcium Lactate Caps". Once the Twinlab supplements are done, I intend to switch to "Calcium/Zink/Magnesium".

    - *I think* I am following this WOE down to the letter, I have to admit being guilty though not following the whole WOL plan. Been little lazy in the exercise part of it. I do around 5 minutes average a day doing pushups, sit-ups and occasional stretching/arms exercise. This is really low I know, planning to fix that during my 2nd goal journey.

    What’s next?

    - Planning to increase my exercise level to 15-30 minutes a day by subscribing to some of next year’s challenges in the forum like Abs, Pushup and fitness challenges. Then may be add few more routines here and there.

    - Add EFA, L-carnitine and CoQ10 supplements as described in chapter 23 of Dr. Atkins hardcover copy.

    - Check my blood work sometime in Feb 08.

I am still very excited of such achievement, I certainly see the difference. Still little shy to post any pictures, but I will sure try if I find enough courage..

Congtrulations Einy!! You've done very well. I didn't lose that much during induction either and stall past 25 carbs per day. I don't exercise so that could be my problem. LOL!!

Keep up the great work! You're doing excellent.

                    Re: Claiming my first victory!

Thanks for all the nice words. Just cannot describe how amazing the feeling is. I think back now about all the times (especially during the holidays and thanksgiving) where I had to pass on pie, ice-cream, cheese cake, and many other "irresistible" food. Jee.. Tons of this food is not worth even a moment of this feeling of success.

I am sure all the old-timers here know exactly what I am talking about, and I only mention this to encourage myself and others to pass on any of the Atkin forbidden food if ever get offered to you. I please beg you to stay away from the carbage, the reward is really worth it.
