  • New Years Resolutions

I'm sure that anyone who has struggled with weight is familar with the old New Years resolutions. I think we've all had those grand standing (usually alcohol induced) moments where we proclaim that this year we're going to lose all the weight. But we're not going to start until Jan. 1st. And maybe we're good on our word for a day or two, maybe a week or two for the seriously comitted, but in the end we failed, because resolutions are all talk and no action. Every year in the past I've always made the same tired resolutions, and broken them all before the celebration confetti hits the floor, so this year I'm doing something different. I'm making a lot of resolutions with every intention of breaking all of them.

This year I'm not going stay on plan
This year I'm going forget about exercise (who needs it?)
This year I'm not going to strive to be a better mother, wife, friend
This year I'm not going to take advantage of the weather (no matter what the weather is)
This year I'm going to beat myself up for every little mistake
This year I'm not going to enjoy life as it happens rather than what it could, would, should, or will be

Anybody else have any resolutions that they look forward to breaking?

the chicken was 'involved' - the pig was 'committed'.
