Re: Week of New Years: Atkinites.

      Welcome back Futurerancher..

Blue996, well, I spent about a month on OWL1 and I thought it is time to move up the ladder. Dr. Atkins didn't restrict a certain time period for each ladder. I think as long as you monitor your carbs and get enough time in that particular rung to know how your body reacts to the different kind of food you are getting, you should be fine. OWL1 wasn't much different from Induction other than extra veggies and working around your CCLL.

For me, one month was enough for me. I confirmed during that month that I have a high metabolic resistance, and my CCLL is (unfortunately) about 18-20 carbs. This can be due to many reasons actually, I think most of all is my lazy a** Also the blood pressure medication I am currently taking. I had no choice but to increase my exercise to have more luxury eating more carbs. 18-20 carbs were actually more than enough to me during my OWL1, but it started to get little challenging when I moved to OWL2.

I am very optimistic though for many reasons. First of all, my physician has already dropped my BP medication dosage to half, which is definitely good thing for my health and for my weight loss. Second of all, I am for sure way more energetic than before which gave me a boost really to do more exercise. So, doing more exercise and dropping the BP medication dosage will most likely increase the CCLL significantly.

I am actually planning to try to give the extra-5-carbs another shot next week and see how my body reacts to that. It all depends on how it is going to react to the dairy products Iam having now. Hopefully I keep loosing.
