    We all know how important it is to eat monounsaturated fats. Here's another reason to add them to each meal If you havn't already. They're Atkins Friendly! Check it out in the February Prevention Magazine. MUFAS do the heart good as well! The article is called Flatten your Belly. It goes on by saying that you can target belly fat by eating the healthy Monounsaturated Fats found in five flat belly foods. They are:

    OILS/ serving equals: 1 tbls

    canola oil
    flaxseed oil
    olive oil
    peanut oil
    pesto sauce
    safflower oil
    semame oil
    soybean oil
    sunflower oil
    walnut oil

    NUTS & SEEDS/ serving equals 2 tbls.
    almonds
    almond butter
    brazil nuts
    cashew butter
    chunky natural peanut butter
    dry-roasted cashews
    dry-roasted peanuts
    dy-roasted sunflower seeds
    hazel nuts
    macadamia nuts
    pecans
    pine nuts
    pistachios
    roasted pumpkin seeds
    smooth natural peanut butter
    sunflower seeds
    sunflower seed butter
    tahini (sesame seed paste)
    walnuts

    AVACADOS /serving size: 1/4 cup
    Florida or Hass

    OLIVES/ serving size:10 large olives or 2 tbls. of tapenade
    Black olives
    black olive tapenade
    green olives
    green olives temenade

    CHOCOLATE /serving size: 1/4 cup
    Dark or semi-sweet chocolate chips, shavings, or chunks

    By eating one of these foods with each meal it has been proven to lose weight and targets belly fat.

    Yea! I am glad you posted this. I was trying to find a way to get it in here. Just finished eating my green olives as a snack! Great article, everyone try to read it.

      Hi Atkid!
      Isn't that a great article! Goes to show you once more how healthy Atkins is. More importantly, having ALL the pieces (monounsaturaterd fats being one of them) to the Atkins puzzle . It all will come together for us all and we'll be healthier for it.
