  • Chick-fil-A Question

Hi all! Today is a busy day for me today so I'm going to have to pick up dinner somewhere tonight. I was thinking Chick-fil-A and I found a few things I could have with low net carbs, such as the chargrilled chicken garden salad (minus the carrots, croutons and sunflower seeds) or the chicken salad cup. But here's my question: The salad has 6 grams of sugar and the chicken salad has 4. Are we supposed to be looking at the grams of sugar as well as the carbs? Or just the carbs?

    Thanks!

    Re: Chick-fil-A Question

Can you find a list of ingredients to see where those sugar grams are coming from?

Natural sugars like those in tomatoes are OK but any added sugar/hfcs/sucrose/fructose and any of the other many sugar aliases are not.

I had a quick look at their website and it looks as if at least some of the carbs in the chicken garden salad are from sugar, dextrose, maltodextrin and rice starch in/on the chicken but the rest if you ignore the carrots and croutons and only eat a couple of cupsworth of the salad veggies should be fine. Those added sugars listed are probably injected into the chicken or used in the marinade, so you wont be able to get an accurate carb count for the dish.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Check for sugar in the chicken salad cause it does have a sweet taste to it. Could be sweet relish they use.
