  • Question about Fitday PC

I was wondering if someone tried the Fitday PC software. If so, can you please give us here some feedback? I am interested to know what you don't like about it.

I have been using Fitday web for almost ocuple of months so far and I like it so much. Will I be able to import my web profile into the Fitday PC?

Another question I have. Are you able to customize a recipe? Like for example, if you have a cheesecake recipe, can you add a new food name called "My Cheesecake" with your recipe rather than punching in the recipe details everytime you eat it?

I have the PC version of Fitday and I love it. Well worth the price, imho.
Can't really compare it to the web version as it's been two years since I used that and can't remember the features. I just know that I prefer the PC version by a long chalk. It did take a little while to get used to though, after the web version. Worth taking the time to learn it.

As for customised recipes... yes you can do that on the PC version. Also you can have an extensive favs list which makes putting in your daily foods very easy. You can add your customised recipes to your favs list too.

I like the weight log feature. I weigh, put in the result and get a cool little graph that shows my weight ups and downs since I started.

      I wouldn't be without it.

You can't import your info from the web to the pc version, which bites

As Sally noted, you can enter in recipes and all your custom foods. It's super easy to do and you only have to do it once. You can track so many more things with the PC version - right down to when you ate/who you ate with/where you ate/why you ate, your weight, your measurements, your moods. You can pull a bigger variety of customized reports from any time frame you want. You can set up weight goals for yourself, journal, etc.

Just the ability to enter foods in from previous days into today with a double click is worth it to me. LOL

I have the PC version as well. It was a blessing when we were on dialup!!
Couple of little glitches here and there, nothing outrages (for example, if you use the food explorer, you will find red and black granular caviar, however, if you are on the food log section, it won't appear)

I also have the PC version and love it! I find it much easier to use than the online version and the weight tracking is great. It predicts your weight in 4 and 12 weeks based on your past losses and I find that very motivational. Best $20 I have spent in a long time.

Sounds good. Thanks for all the feedback. I think I will go and order one now, it is just a bummer that I cannot import my previous 2 months data... Will have to do that manually I guess..or may be just forget about it! Will see..

            Thanks again!

              Re: Question about Fitday PC

I would spend the time needed to copy your weight info at least into the pc version once you have it on your computer. You can always open up the online version in the future to check old stuff too as it stays there for ever as far as I know.

                Re: Question about Fitday PC

When I bought it I entered my weights but not the food...that would have been too time consuming.

                  That's what I did too.

Yes - as well as my weight log I only copied the info for the custom foods I use, not the daily menu stuff.

Well, I think I have an unbelievable patience that can help in putting the old online data into the PC version, but unfortunately not enough time to do it.. I would love to see all info since starting this WOE in a centralized place for accurate reporting, etc.. I will see what I will be able to put in there anyway.. I have already ported the weight info and the custom food yesterday.

There is one more thing I actually didn't like in the PC version so far.. The "Am I meeting my nutrient requirements?" Nutrition Report I used to get in the online version is simple, color coded and takes a fraction of a second to spot the nutritions you are lacking during the day. In the PC version it is more comprehensive and not color coded, which takes longer to scan through. But hey.. That's only one thing (beside of course the fact that you cannot import your online profile), the stuff that I like are countless..

Yep... there are alwyas pros and cons, aren't there? But as with most things, they improve as you get to know them.
