You can theoretically stay in induction for quite a long time, but its rarely a good idea. I don't know how much you have to lose, or how well you are doing so far on induction. In rare cases of very high metabolic resistance extending induction may be the path to choose, otherwise there is little to recommend staying there for long beyond the initial two weeks.
Moving on to OWL is not going to adversely affect your weight loss, certainly on the first few rungs. In fact a lot of people find that if they extend induction unnessesarily, they have to move to OWL to get the weight moving again, as they stall. OWL is also a vital time for learning when and what you can eat - the restricted list of foods on induction make it impossible for you to learn this and it is very important that you do if you plan to keep the weight off.
While you are on induction in the first few weeks it seems tempting to stay, it's safe, you are not hungry, don't have many decisions to make and the weight is coming off. But let me tell you, once you have those extra veggies and other food choices, going back to induction doesn't sound terribly tempting at all!!
