  • I have no appetite, do I really have to eat lunch??

I am on day 7 and had a fairly large breakie. I am stuffed and cannot imagine eating lunch. What is the max. time that we can go between meals and snacks? My stomach has certainly shrunk ( hallelujah! ) . Can I get away with just eating a small snack like a chunk of avacado and a cheese stick?

Dr. A recommends eating every 4-6 hours. I would say if you aren't hungry and it hasn't been 4-6 hours don't stuff yourself, but have a snack handy for when you do get hungry or eat something small every 4-6 hours, if you aren't hungry because your body may very well be you just can't tell.

One of the signs of being in ketosis is a diminishing appetite, so it might be a good idea to scale down your portions now.

So instead of having large meals that fill you up for a long time put maybe half of what you 'usually' eat out on the plate and see if that satisfies you.

You can always have a small snack later before your 'normal' next meal time if you need it!

This is one of the few areas I don't necessarily agree with Atkins. I frequently skip lunch and regularly go 8-10 hours without eating. Even at my best I eat breakfast about 6:30 and lunch about 2. Which is about 7+ hours. It works just fine for me. I think much of our eating is just out of habit. BUT if going that long makes you eat like a pig when you finally eat - don't do it.

yes. dont necessarily have to eat it all at one time but eat till your satisfied and then nibble on it throught the rest of the day. You'll find that dinner may be the same way. I haven't got near the appetite i used to have.

Just make sure you eat something between dinner and lunch. On the weekend's I get real busy and will frequently forget to eat (overeating is not my problem - eating the wrong things and slow metobolism is) I started to notice everytime I do this I kick myself out of ketosis. I guess its because my stomach thinks I am going to starve it and therefore keeps hold of the fat that I want to flush away.
