Gall Bladder Sugery

Does anyone know if someone who has had gall bladder surgery can do Atkins, especially the high fat induction?

My wife had her Gall Bladder out 2 years ago. She did induction last summer with not major diffulcties. She said her Bowels behaved better during that time then normally. Certain Foods affect her different then others though.

I had my gall bladder out.. my bowels dont come out firm...when i got to go i got to go now. I think it may have to do with the fat we have to eat. ive been on this since 12-28-07 and they are(bowels) now starting to get better. in the beginning i had to run to the bathroom after eating.

I had mine out about a year before I started Atkins, my husband had his out several years before. We never even thought about it being a problem, and it never was one, for either of us.

I had mine out 3 years ago. The only problem I had was a major acid reflux problem. It might not be directly linked to the gall bladder, but I think it is. With medicine it is getting better tho. As far as the bowels they have been odd too, but nothing that I dont think will eventually get regular again.

I had my GB out about 12 years ago. Absolutely NO problems with a high fat diet now.

Thanks for the info everyone. I have a friend who could definitely use this WOE, but she is not ready to give up the carbs yet. In fact, she has a wheat and corn allergy that are giving her severe breathing problems, but she refuses to recognize it. She had gall bladder surgery last summer. I mention Atkins when the opportunity arises, but I wanted to be sure the high fat would not be detrimental.

I had mine out about 17 years ago -- have had no problems doing atkins whatsoever
