My weight gain is like living a nightmare...I don't know why it happened and I can't figure out why I can't loose. I was always thin until I suddenly gained a chunk of weight. It's gone on like that...weird 10 to 15 pound gaines very quickly. I've been to 8 nutritionists in the past 7 years and followed diets perfectly and didn't loose anything...just kept gaining. I'm currently seeing an endocrinologist, a gastro and an allergist and my internist is coordinating all of this. Nothing major has been found. In December my interest sent me to get my body fat tested. I was told I was obease. The tech was obnoxious to me. Everyone is obnoxious. They all speak to me as if I am lazy and stupid. I am soooo hoping that Atkins is the answer. If it doesn't work I don't know what I will do.

Thank you for letting me vent. I know everyone here has a story and a struggle.
    Hello albs75,

Sherri thank you so much for checking in with me. I'm really down about it all right now. I've continued with induction and I am now in my 4th week. I had two bad days. One day I ate a spoonfull of cookie batter and then on super bowl sunday I ate a bunch of chips. Aside from that I have been very strict. My average cal per day is 1350. Also, I'm exercising every day (cardio and weight lifting).

I STILL haven't dropped weight. I also haven't lost inches. The ketosticks are turning pink so I figure something is going on. I'm still on the antibiotics and I am convinced that I have a bad case of candida. It has to be that...if it isn't I just don't know what to do. I've been researching candida online and have started a stringent program for that. With this too I feel my body reacting (increase in a rash problem and induction flu like symptoms) in a way that indicates die off...

I just tried on my ski clothes for the first time in 3 years. I bought some size large after I had my baby and now they are too small. I can't believe this is my body. I was a size 6 before....

AWW, hang in there sweetie. I use to have a yeast problem. I take a natural thats called Olive Leaf Extract. It's a anti-fungul, anti-virul and anti-bacterial. I've never had a yeast problem since taking it. Plus this WOE helps by not eating yeast, and sugar. You know the saying,"yeast and sugar make things grow". I don't get sick either. If I do it's short term. I have my whole family taking it. This time of year everyone gets a double dose because of all the illnesses going around. The brand I buy is Now and it cost just under $12. It's certainly worth a try for your problem.
Once you get you candida under control your weight will drop off. Put those cheats behind you. Continue with your woe to the Atkins T. Have you checked out in your DANDR book about Yeast syndrom? On page 185-187, 331-337. Check that out if you already havn't.
Do you have a journal here? If you don't, start one. You'll get support there as well. Your antibiotics are causing the candida. Do you have any pro-biotics handy? If not, buy some and take them. So you can replace the good bacteria that the antibiotics are killing along with the bad bacteria. Replenish your flora. So, So important.
You mentioned how many calories your taking in. How many carbs a day?You may want to consider going into OWL. Try adding on 5 grams of veggies from the other veggie list. Just so you can get some variety. It's better than giving up. Please don't give up. You're just getting through a challenge with you body physically right now. It's a health issue. Not a challenge with your WOE, right?. Were those cheats out of frustration, cravings? Have you tried taking 500 mg of L-Glutamine to fight sweet cravings? I take it and it totally works!
Remember Ketosticks are just a tool. An expensive one at that. They can become excessive. Like using them every time you go. Like jumping on the scale each time you leave the bathroom. It's easy to become obssesive with these tools. I was guilty of this at one time. Try not to focus on that so much. Focus and plan your meals ahead of time. Stay off the scale!!! Especially now with the Candida issue. The scale will drive you bonkers right now!
Okay, now, How do you feel now? If you would like. You may visit me anytime in my journal. You are welcome there anytime. To vent, ask questions, or just talk. I'm there.
        Sincerely, Sherri

Hey Sherri, I have a quick question for ya. Is there a recommended age for taking the Olive Leaf Extract? I ask because I'm very, very cautious about using natural remedies for children, however I need to do something to help my kids out - seems like they're constantly bringing something home from school. It makes them miserable & takes a bit of a toll on me as well when everyone's sick at the same time. If it's really done that well for you I'd love to be able to provide that same level of boosted immunity for my family. Thank ya, ma'am!

            Hello dear,
I've been giving Olive Leaf Extract to my family now for almost 4 years. My daughter was 9 then. One capsul in the morning and 0ne at evening meal time, for the first week. Then one a.m. for maintenance dose there after. If it's the flu season ,as it is now, I give my family 1 in the a.m. and 1 in the p.m. untill the contagious season is over. Our family hasn't been ill for four years now.
I know what you mean about our children being in such a virul, bacterial, and fungul environment. The Olive leaf will protect us all from these environments. Olive Leaf has made me a beleiver that there is a natural that will safely protect all of us, young and old, from these types of environments. With no side effects!
Thank you for your interest Ladychan. Your family will be healthier with the Olive leaf. It also helps prevent some cancers as well. Here's a link www.knowthecause.com . I learned all about olive leaf and how amazing that it protects us of so many things. Find out where you can watch the show to learn more about how you can protect you and your family from disease by taking naturals.
Here's to better health & Lite,
            Sincerely, Sherri
