  • plastic water bottle health concern

    hi
I don't know if anything has been said in Britain or the US (or whatever country you may be living in), but in Canada there's been a recent scare with health concerns with the use of reusable plastic water bottles....I'll post a link to an article about it. It talks about "Mountain Equipment" pulling their bottles...if you have never heard of them, it is the name of a major retailer of outdoor clothing/equipment in Canada.

Here's the link...just thought some of you may find it interesting.

Here's a link to a site showing aluminum water bottles..a good alternative maybe and really cool designs available!

Re: plastic water bottle health concern

I use a Nalgene bottle and have often considered going to an aluminum bottle. I know alot of these things can just be scares sometimes, but i think it's better to be safe than sorry in a case like that. I actually drink tap water over bottled water as i think it's more healthy (there are no health regulations for bottled water testing in canada, but there are for tap...not sure about other countries). I also try to avoid microwaving in any kind of plastic container or with plastic wrap, and i'm now trying to buy brand name storage containers over dollar store ones.

with my luck i'll buy an aluminum bottle then there will be an aluminum bottle scare LOL
