And I have GAINED 1.4 pounds. This past weeks has been aweful. I have stuck to the diet 100%. The same thing is happening to my hubby. I read the article someone sent me about post induction stall syndrom. It said sometimes it can last 6 weeks. At this rate I will be fatter than ever by six weeks. Could this be happening from sugar free candy. We have been each eating a few pieces a day. I never thought it was that till I saw a threat about gum... Sorry for the vent

Definitely give up the SF candy - they can stall people.

Go back through your menu - could there be any hidden sugars in "legal" foods like sausages, hotdogs, etc? Even things like pumpkin, artificial sweetners, nuts, cheese can be stallers.

Are you eating enough fat? Drinking enough water? Getting enough exercise?

I know it's frustrating - keep it up, you can totally do this

Cut out all sugar free candy! Your body could be absorbing the sugar alcohols. Since starting I have not eaten any of these foods (bars, shakes, sf candy, etc) and have been consistently losing with no stalls. I strongly believe that the more natural the food the better.

Somewhere on this massive forum, you will find a thread about fake sugar, and it's ability to raise insulin because your body THINKS it's gonna get real sugar. Then end result is the food that you eat, now in the presence of insulin, is stored. The whole science behind it was described much better than I'm doing, so look for it. If I run into it again, I'll post it here for you.

ANY processed foods will work against you. Please eat foods from the ALLOWED list, drink your water, increase your daily exercise, take your vits and stay off the scale.

Thank you for the replies. I have cut out all the candy, and today I was down a little bit. Thanks so much for posting that article. I have never heard of that before but I guess it makes sense. I feel like I just wasted last week because of no weight loss. I was compairing pics from the first day of the diet and today and I can tell a little different, so I must be loosing inches. Thanks again

I learned yesterday to watch every single nutritional info panel. I was in the bulk store about to replenish my supply of dry chicken stock. I glanced at the info only to see it has 72g of carbs!!!! OMG!!!! I compared the low-sodium, the onion and beef flavours and they were all the same. I marched right over the the grocery store and loaded up on the tinned ones that I know are safe. The dried one must be full of fillers.....I never would have guessed. Having always used it liberally to cook veggies, maybe the scale will start moving again. I have been doing a 2lb yo-yo for two weeks now - grrrrrr.

Thankfully, I never used my bulk dry chicken stock, which I love so much, but purchased in Canada and I knew it must contain a lot of nasty stuff. Where can you find tinned chicken broth without big no-nos? My Campbell's condensed chicken broth has MSG, dextrose (sugar), wheat gluten, soy and corn protein, plus a bunch of sodium. Since I started Atkins back in 2005, I have boiled a lot of chicken and I save the broth in jars in the freezer. I now have broth that is just chicken and water. Same with pot roasts.
People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.
