When I first started Atkins I would take any veggies I loved from the Induction list of LGC veggies and measure 3 cups for the day , I assumed this meant I automatically had 20 grams of carbs <doh>and put in the fridge and take from those veggies throughout the day. The book said I could have no more then 3 TBSP cream, No more then 3 Ozs of cheese. I ate from the measured cup, AND THEN i also had my 3 TBSP of cream and cheese on top of that. I lost a good portion of my induction weight here....HOWEVER, later realized that "NO, NO, NO"....I need to ensure that I could my carbs of each individual veggie choice AND my cream, and cheese carbs. I don't think the book is very clear about this unfortunately.
I'd like to know if YOU weight your veggies for your carb count. Or do you measure your veggies for your carb count? What works best for you and do you find that any one particular way of measuring to be more accurate then the other?

), when it comes to Atkins. I am probably one of the few, who do measure everything (even now, in Maintenance). And the way that I measure, is by weight. I have an inexpensive food scale that weighs in ounces/grams, and I use this Nutritional Spreadsheet to get my information as to how many ounces/grams of a veggie equals one cup. Here is the link to the Spreadsheet:

...1.10.08 ?inaccurate?/206.2/160
I am going to contact someone, and see what the deal is. Luckily, I printed out the spreadsheet a while back, and refer to it that way. I'll see what I can find out!
