That sorta reminds me of a Simpson's episode where Homer becomes addictive to the new Rib sandwich at Krusty's. Homer watches a commercial for it and the voice over says something like "We take 100% beef and process the heck out of it" while it shows beef being ground and poured into rib shaped molds.

Eating natural is natural. I probably sound like a food conspiracy crazy, but I really think that many of our health problems are due to the additives, preservatives and highly processed foods we eat. And it might be my imagination, but I feel better---like my body feels like it's working better--- when I eat foods that aren't highly processed.

I don't think it's your imagination. That processed junk is poison to our systems. It's not my imagination that I no longer have asthma, after a lifetime of medications and inhalers. I have less pain and my skin and nails haven't looked this healthy since I was in my 20's.

Hi my name is Taz aka Spazzy and I have Food Issues.

I like to eat foods that are all natural such as meat and veggies. I also consume a large amount of water. Excercising has also become a habit of mine. This has caused me to lose weight and inches and feel better about myself.

Sorry for the inconvenience of not letting others put me down and filling my body with sugars and processed food.

I also must inform everyone that I don't plan on changing my behaviors as I find I can't help myself. My name is Taz and I'm addicted to a low-carb lifestyle.

I'm the same way!! I've always had asthma, and sometimes I still get it when it's very cold or I'm allergic to something, but I never get it out of nowhere anymore. And before I did Atkins, I always had VERY weak fingernails. Now my nails are really really strong!

This is so true. I was eating fast food three meals a day. Food tastes so different when it's real. I'm completely enjoying the freedom of the induction menu, and I say freedon because I get to use this variety of veggies that you never find at McDonald's and Burger King, as well as good wholesome cuts of meat and real butter and olive oil. It's a feast and I'm losing weight because of it. Who knew? I sleep better and I can actually MAKE it to the gym and finish a workout. It's a huge change.

I found your story hilarious - I'll take those kinds of food issues anyday! lol

And I completely agree with IrishSarah & not2late - the additives in "modern" food are killing us. I think a lot of people are intolerant to all the crap in our diets without even realizing it. We're just so used to feeling less than great all the time, people ignore that it might be their bodies trying to tell them something.

                            Re: I have Issues

We all have food issues. I used to have negative ones that caused me to become overweight and dependent on food. Now I have positive food issues where I choose the healthy foods that make me feel good and take control over my eating. We'll always have food issues...its up to us to choose what 'issues' we have and work at it. Her comment was just a way she could justify the foods she eats and feel better about them. Obviously if she is working so hard at insulting your way of eating, she is questioning her own choices.

Ok seriously............ this is a classic example of projection. She has the food issues. It's sad that eating food thats not injected with toxic waste is considered odd. You know though, people who are addicted to sugar and carbs still, have a hard time imagining how we resist the stuff, bread etc.......... they just don't get that we're not addicted anymore. I know mentally that bagels and bread are tastey but it's not the same at all as it used to be. I always shake my head when I hear people say things like "I can't live without bread, I don't know how you do it...." (my best friend says that). I never tell people that I'm doing low carb cause it's just too contraversial. I just say I'm off sugar or that I don't "do" sugar anymore.
