  • doing atkins 2nd time around

I did atkins about 2 years ago, and going to do it again. I've heard that the weight loss is slower the 2nd time around, is that true? Has anyone had any experience in this?

    Welcome back to Atkins!!

This is my 2nd time around also and I'm actually finding im losing the weight easier this time than the last. I just recently completed my 2 week induction and lost 7 lbs during it. First time I actually gianed a pound!

For me though I am enjoying more how I FEEL then how much weight I've lost and I tell you, I feel great!

THis is my second time around, and I am just about on track with where I was the first time. Inch loss wise, I am losing faster this time, as I am working out alot more this time, than the first time in the beginning of getting on plan.

This is called "golden shot" aka your golden shot at weightloss is the first time. I will tell you that about 97% of the people on here will tell you it is not true. But, some say they did lose faster the first time.

Most become more educated on the diet plan the first time. Then come at it with vengence the second time. I see many progress photos of people who look so healthy and are on round 7 with this diet plan. I say even if the loss is not golden they sure look great!

Re: doing atkins 2nd time around

I am finding that I am losing at the same rate as before. It's just the first time I had a lot less to lose so it only took six months.

Everyone's different. Some people do tend to lose slower the second time around... or take a while to start shedding; but those who stick with it, do still lose.

Re: doing atkins 2nd time around

Im on my second time too and losing a little slower, the 1st time was summer and I would walk everyday, so I'm thinking that is why Im going a little slower.

Re: doing atkins 2nd time around

Thanks Well my first week is down. I lost about 8 lbs my first week. The first time I did atkins it was about 12. And this time I am excercising so its a little bit of a slower start. But I'm not giving in!

Keep it up. I started out slowly but now I'm losing consistenly. I definitely know more this time around. The boards are wonderful! I think I'm more of a fanatic this time around. Just remember - you didn't gain all the weight over night so don't expect to lose it over night either.

8 pounds in one week is fantastic! I am also a second-timer. Unfortunately, I have a really, really (did I mention REALLY) slow metabolism so it takes me a while to start losing the weight (or noticing the weight come off) but once it does - look out! Congrat's on an awesome start!

Definitely slower, but we must do it!! Will be worth it in the end.
