    I've been hanging around the board more than ever the past couple of days because I have been sick with a stomach bug and not at work. Seems like everyone in my office has had norovirus so it was just a matter of time really!

    My question is this- the past couple of days I haven't really eaten anything, today I had some chicken broth. I am trying to keep my water intake high because I know the risk of dehydration but I am just not able to keep anything solid down. I know this has meant I'm not getting in enough fat and protein and I'm starting to worry that this will throw off the plan. Do you think it is ok for a few days or do you have any suggestions? Thanks all.

    can you make a soup?

    throw some veggies in with the broth, throw it in the food processor and add a bit of cream? makes for a great Cream of anything soup and has some fat protein and carbs in it!

      I would say don't worry about it. You're sick, so your body is out of whack anyway. When you're feeling better, take Emma's advice and add some veggies and/or cream to your broth and just be sure that you only put legal foods in your mouth.

        I hope you feel better soon! If it were me I wouldnt worry about it too much. Best thing is just get better, and do what makes you feel the most comfortable.

          I agree with everyone else. Good news is that you are at least able to keep something down. I hope you start feeling better soon - I HATE being sick...especially stomach viruses - yuk!

              Glad you were able to get down a bit of food, it really helps with recovery. Stay determined & don't let this bout of sickness deter you from getting right back on the Atkins horse as soon as you feel able!

                Thanks! I'm much better now and I am eating solid food! I never went off plan (though I did have much less food that is strictly good for me)! Thanks for the support!

                  I am glad to hear you are now feeling better and able to eat real food again
