  • I blew it...I feel sick

I was making chocolate chip cookies with my daughter (she's home sick and I thought this would be a good activity...I should never have done it). I ate some of the batter...probably two cookies worth. My stomach is churning and cramping. Yuck.

I'm on extended induction...I didn't lose at all during induction even though I did it by the book (except for too much cheese some days). I've been so determined to stick with this even though I haven't seem results. Now this! I'm really angry at myself.

Don't beat yourself up over it. That's not going to help. Just re-evaluate what you are eating and drinking. Hidden carbs can be a disaster. I have had to do the same thing just today. I believe I am consuming too many splendas and it's interferring with my Ketosis and weightloss. So now I have got to readjust my menu. This is a WOE and not a quick fix. We are going to make mistakes along the way but it is part of the process. Just get back up and keep going.....Just like you have been doing

I would have chosen the cookies, not the batter!

Now being serious, I think most of the people here screwed it at least once, especially during induction. Just go back on track and I bet the pounds will soon start to melt away

I have told my roommate that if she bakes while I'm on Induction, that both of us will end up on the evening news and it won't be pretty.

That aside, I agree that you just have to keep trucking. It will set you back a couple days but you'll be wiser for it because you've found one of your craving triggers.

Now we can just cheer for you while you forge ahead!

Now that's funny --- I made my daughter brownies the other day while waiting for TOM to arrive I thought I was gonna die.. Normally, chocolate doesn't bother me...but for the one week.

Don't beat yourself up - we all make mistakes. The imporatant thing is to get back up on that bike and "Ride Sally Ride" (sorry listening to southern rock right now!)

Look to the future and don't dwell on the past! Instead of stressing yourself over one mistake focus on what you will do from now on.

Always have a handy legal snack with you... yes, even (especially!!) when making cookies for others. Sometimes just chewing on something will get you past the craving, and if it's a high fat something, even better.

cheesecake! I make it with chocolate in it. I have some in the fridge right now. Don't be too hard on yourself. I know for a fact that if there were any sort of chocolate chip anything around me I would devour it. On the principle alone that they are divine. My favorite. Have you posted your menu on here? It's an easy way to find out what's going wrong if it's involved with your menu. Modified Food Starch is in a lot of stuff, canned chicken for example and is BIG time staller for me. We had s/f pudding that had it in there and my b/f and I didn't lose anything because of it for 2 weeks. Totally sucked. Also this country puts corn syrup in everything so be careful! Sorry if you've heard all this before. Oh and just so you know, getting back into ketosis and on induction is a LOT easier if you do it right away. Thank god. We went out of town for a funeral for a week and I was eating NY pizza, and all sorts of horrible things like white castle "belly bombers" and when we got back induction was not nearly as bad as it was when I first did it. I lost all the weight I regained already.......thank god. So, yes, we all fall! Chin up, keep trying. Good luck!

I ate one piece of cake on Christmas and was so ill and moody the next day that I can't imagine ever doing that again. It was worse than a bad hangover! Just get back on track and keep in the back of your mind how you felt.

The longer you stay away from them sweets, the easier it is to curve the cravings! If u can go cheat free for a few weeks straight, they wont even sound as good as they did before.

Re: I blew it...I feel sick

The stupid thing about it is that I'm not a sweets person!! My problem is in the pasta, crackers, tortilla chip and etc area. I think I was being self distructive or something. The worst part it that it made the afternoon really tough. The cravings for the other stuff spiked. I'd gotten to the point were I could just ignore the crackers and stuff but yesterday afternoon they seemed to pop out at me every time I opened the cabinet.

I resisted everything and today I'm back to the new normal.
