  • This is what I'm thinking...any comments?

OK...It is day 19 and I've lost two pounds. Franky, I'm not sure that it is a solid loss because my weight can fluctuate more than that because of fluid retention.

I posted at 10 days and at two weeks so some of you have read my laments...Also, yesterday I had a cookie batter incicedent that didn't get too out of hand but I'm not proud of (figure I ingested about 20 carbs). I immediatly went back on plan and this morning the strips are pink again.

So, I have been tracking everything in fitday and my avereage daily cal is 1400. My percentages are about 60F/35P/5C (even yesterday). This is what I eat: Breakfast is 2 eggs, 1 cup of vegs and bacon some days. Lunch is grilled meat, 1 cup of vegs. Dinner is the same as lunch. I was snacking on cheese but now I've elimated it and I snack on lunch meat (organic, unprocessed). I work from a home office (I own a stat-up business) so I cook my own lunch. I go out to dinner once or twice a week and I always order a salad with lemon and oil dressing, and grilled fish with vegs (this is LA,they are used to people ordering in in picky ways!). Every morning I measure 2 oz of cream and use this in my coffee. I also use 1/2 packet of splendra in my coffee. I started out with 4 cups of coffee a day (3 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon. I've gotten that down to 1.5 cups in the morning only.

I'm on a 30 day course of antibiotics which I think is affecting this. I decided to start treating the yeast now so I am taking probiotics in the middle of the day (I take the antibiotics first thing in the morning and right before bed). I'm also taking caprylic acid.

The fact that I am in lipolysis, eating 1400c or lower and my percentages are good (I think) makes me believe that I am, in fact, buring fat. I have this feeling that the antibiotics are making me retain fluid or something and thats why it isn't showing up in the scale. I'm expecting a major drop sometime after I finish the antibiotics.

Am I just deluding myself? Any thoughts?

Your menu looks fine to me, so the antibiotics might be the problem. I doubt you didn't consider this, but do you know what "vegs" come with the fish? Are you sure they are allowed vegetables?

      Good morning!

Going by the book, which I hope we all do, there are still some options left for you to streamline your diet. If you're on Induction, make sure your veggies are all on the Induction list. Try to eliminate any of the sweeter ones like peppers, carrots, that sort of thing in case you may be eating too many. Also, if you can, get rid of the coffee. Caffiene increases our craving for sweets and can stall some people too. It's hard to imagine the cups of joe contributing to the cookie batter incident you mentioned, but they do.

I also noticed that you didn't mention exercise at all. It's very important to get moving as much as you can throughout the day. It's been the key to so much weight loss on this board. Even a ten minute walk a day is better than nothing, and will contribute to your loss.

Hopefully you will just clear up when the antibiotic series stops and the pounds start melting away. You're being very strict with yourself so it's hard to find some leeway, but that's all I could see. Good luck and keep us all posted.

Have you been measuring inches as well as weighing? Your weight could be the same or just a little less but you might be losing inches. If you are not losing inches then I don't know why except maybe the medication? Also, are you feeling better than you were? Even if you are not weighing less this woe should help you with feeling energetic and just generally positive so I hope that you are getting those results! Good luck and I hope all goes well for you!
