  • Esscchhh, real flu, not atkins flu

    12 days into induction:

Flu. I'm a teacher, I got my flu shot in Octoberish, but this week half my kids have been out with flu. This morning I woke up with a 100.5 temp. So far my appetite is good and I'm sticking with the diet. Lol, we will see, if it gets rough I may have to head for Gatorade, popsicles and Vernors (Vernors-- its a Michigan thing, ;-) )

Oh well, maybe I'll lose some weight from the flu!

Man, it seems like everyone's sick! My daughter's got a nasty case of the flu right now & she's just miserable poor thing. Here's hoping your flu shot does its job so you only get a mild case instead of full-blown misery!

It does suck! But so far I have stuck with the diet. Last night I had made fish for lunch today but could not touch it. However I have been eating bacon and eggs. The weird thing being I normally don't like eggs.

Sorry to hear you are not feeling well. Soups are easy to make lowcarb and dont take long either.
Just simmer meat/veg/seasonings in water till soft then make into a puree using a food processor or stick blender and add cream or butter to keep your fats high. You can always make some flax crackers to eat with it if you like too.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Feel better soon! I just got over being sick and it was hard to stay on plan! Let chicken broth be your best friend if you lose your appetite for real food!
