    I know Atkins works. I did it 2 summers ago and lost 20 lbs. I don't know why I quit! I have high cholestrol and it won't go down when I am on Atkins. My doctor was the one who told me about Atkins, so I know that he isn't as closed minded about this way of eating like most people. But he did say that SOME, not all, people who high cholestrol shouldn't be on Atkins. I figured I would try low fat, didn't work. I decided to eat only 1000 calories a day, didn't work. I tried on the same pants today that I was wearing a year ago, couldn't even zip them up. Why did I quite. I really don't care what the doctors say, what my parents say or even all the "experts" that I work with say. I am going to go back on Atkins and stay! I HAVE HAD IT WITH BEING FAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Good for you! And you know, you can do Atkins without eating lots of saturated fat. Try eating lots of fish and grilled chicken, things like that! Cook with coconut oil and use olive oil in salads! Healthy fats!
