  • Some Encouragement

Okay, well I am three days into Atkins Induction phase - I have read the book and actually did it once before... I am hoping to find some encouragement here as I struggle through the next 14 days or so

I am 185 pounds, hoping to get to 160 or 155.

Be great if that could happen by the end of March or so... I am a male - early 40's

so hello all, and happy atkinsing!

    Re: Some Encouragement

    Hi Franklin,

Im gonna be starting on Sunday so I will be going through induction with ya. Im 39 currently at 170 and wanting or hoping to be about 155 by mid march. Not sure if thats a realistic goal but thats what Im shooting for. Its been about 2 years since I did low carbing and its like my 3rd time around. The last time it was not so great and I was totally discouraged by not having lost any during induction so Im hoping this time will be better.

    Are you exercising at all?

Yes, I am lifting and light cardio. How about you?

I did it about three years ago with great success... but then feel off the wagon and just gained and gained!

maybe we should check in on each other every day or every other day or so... try to boost some moral

          Re: Some Encouragement

I am not doing any workouts yet. I did start on some pushups and ab work this week. I do plan on starting my P90 soon but I know im not going to have much energy the first few days so I think I will postpone the DVD workout till after induction.

Yeah I think it will be good to check in a couple times a week. I will definately need the motivation and the accountability. Im a female so I know it will be a little harder for me to loose the amount of lbs im hoping to loose. I think upping my workout post induction will do the trick.

          Thanks for the welcome AP!!!

                    Welcome to ADBB!!

                    My advice would be:

Follow the plan to the letter, do NOT eat "frankenfoods" (which are LC junk foods), eat lean protein, healthy fats, non-starchy veggies and keep up the exercise! Oh and lots of water, and vitamins! And then ..

                    Prepare to be amazed!

It definitely helps me. It really keeps me focused on what my goals are and where I am headed. Just something as simple as reading some success stories or someone's ideas for how to achieve that success are so helpful. It also helps to have all the warm and friendly responses from people that you know are going through the exact same experiences. I wish you the best in your induction!!
