  • Support group?

I've been thinking about this a while. I live in a real small town and yet we have a weight watchers group and T.O.P.S. But I've never heard of a low carb support group. Do they have them? How do you think I could go about starting one? It would be nice to have a weekly weigh in and support from people in this area that is doing low carb. What are your thought?

Hrmm.. I think an in-person Low Carbers Group would be a great idea. It was the one thing that had me thinking about WW, I liked that accountability and physical approach - I just wasn't fond of WW! LOL.

You could try putting one together. Maybe do meetups in a local park, school gym (check with the school first!) or even someone's home if you're comfy with that. You could look for potential members by checking whose near you in this forum, or even post about it in your local newspaper or Craigslist.. but using that method, I'd opt to use a public meeting place first for safety sake.

That is a nice idea if it would help. You can never have too much support.

Personally - I was involved with Weight Watchers and I get SOOOO much more support here at this forum than I ever did there. It is hard to really connect with people when you only see them once per week for a half hour. The daily connection for me is so important. In fact, if it weren't for Liz, Mitzi, Glenda and others who have been so supportive - I would probably not still be losing weight and would have thrown in the towel for the zillionth time.

It is nice seeing a picture where I actually have a neck!

Checkout Meetup.com - see if there are any in your local area - if not, start your own!

        Good luck!

Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Years ago TOPS was all about doing your own "sensible" thing to lose the weight.
Don't know if they are still like that or not.
But they would be a weekly weigh-in / accountability group to join.
