I thought shrimp was a free food. Thats what it said in the book. Fit day says that boiled or steamed shrimp has 5 carbs for 3 cups. I ate 3 cubs of large tail-on shrimp so It wasnt actually 3 cubs of meat but I measured it whole because thats how it came frozen. Should I make that adjustment in fitday? I wasnt aware it had so many carbs.

I'm with Betty, I think any shrimp or shellfish you have that has carbs would be from additives?

Re: carbs in shrimp???
Hello,According to my handy dandy Atkins Carb Gram Counter Book. 6 oz steamed prawns have 0 carbs, 6 oz cooked shrimp o carbs.
Shellfish as in clams, for instance, 6 oz can drained has 8.7 grams of carbs. Lobster steamed,6 oz has 2.2 grams carbs, mussels steamed 6 oz has 12.6 grams. It all depends on what type of shellfish your eating, so be careful.

Re: carbs in shrimp???
Shellfish does have carbs, just as eggs have carbs, and organ meats have carbs. It has nothing to do with additives, that's just how they come!

Re: carbs in shrimp???
My daughter talked me into boiled crawfish yesterday and today. I don't see it on the calorieKing site. Anyone have any idea on the carbs in that?

Here is it on calorieking too, it doesn't say boiled, just 'crawfish, cooked' sometimes they don't specify the type of cooking unfortunately.Originally posted by AtkidMy daughter talked me into boiled crawfish yesterday and today.
