Since the end of Summer I haven't lost any weight despite toning in some areas. I guess I've been doing pretty good maintaining through the rough winter. Winter has always been a hard time of year for me to lose. I think I am going to lower my carb intake and if that doesn't work I may do a re-induction to jumpstart everything. My goal is to get under 140. Man, the closer to goal the slower my weight loss has been....

Re: Re-induction time?
There's really no reason to go back to induction.
Check for a few things in your diet.
1. Carb creep--have you been consuming hidden carbs or not measuring foods? A few carbs here and a few carbs there can add up to a number that's higher than your CCLL.
2. Exceeded your CCLL--have you found yours yet? Perhaps by dropping back in carbs 5 or 10 grams will get you on the losing path again.
3. Food intolerance--is there something in your diet that could be causing you to stall?
4. Portion sizes/caloric intake--it's important that we eat enough during the day, at or slightly above our BMR. I know that I sometimes have trouble with portion sizes and think that just because it's legal it's a "free" food. WRONG!
5. Not eating enough--along with eating too many calories, there's also the danger of not eating ENOUGH! If this happens, your body will begin to conserve every single calorie you put in it and your metabolism will slow.
6. Inches lost but no pounds--if you are losing inches you are losing fat! You're only 12 pounds from goal, your losses will get SLOOOOOOOOOOOWER. In 2 pounds you'll begin pre-maintenance and your losses should slow even more.
----------------
My suggestion is to go back to Rung 1 and eat lots of veggies. If you do want to find out if you have a food sensitivity, work up the rungs again, being even more careful when adding a "new" food. Treat all non-rung 1 foods as "new" foods. Do not limit your carbs to under 20g, but instead, eat freely of induction veggies up to a carb level that you know is "safe".
----------------
Not to be a sensationalist, but there's always the possibility of a candida overgrowth. I had been stuck (and actually gained a couple of pounds) since August and I felt like something just wasn't right. (I had many other physical symptoms, not just lack of weight loss.)
Tomorrow morning, take the spit test. You may very well NOT have a candida overgrowth, but it's always best to rule out possibilities!START 8/16/06 @ 270+~MG1: 220-12/2/06~MG2: 210-1/07~MG3: 199-3/2/07~MG4: 190-4/27/07~MG5: 180-7/04/07~GOAL: 170

Re: Re-induction time?
Erica - I'm exactly at the same place you are and it's so FRUSTRATING!!! I'm super close to goal and I'm crawling to get there. I was actually thinking of going back on induction to jump start myself, but Juli has some great advice - Thanks Juli!!
Best of luck to you! You'll get there!

Re: Re-induction time?
Colleen, you're doing GREAT! Just be patient. It should take you many months to lose those last few pounds.
You're only 2 pounds away from goal!?!?

Re: Re-induction time?
Thanks everyone for the tips and support. That's a good idea to start from rung 1 instead of induction. What exactly is the spit test?Erica, 30, Female, 5'5"
