  • Leg Pain!!!

Hi Everyone, just wondering if anybody sufferes from leg pain, i have had pain for the last month or so, worst when im walking on my legs, like in my joints and bones. I have went up and down on the scale and right now im at my heaviest which im sure doesnt help the situation, but it really is bothersome. I have a doctors appt at the end of this month and i will surely bring it up but just was curious as to what it might be. It really hurst a lot like where my butt and my legs join together, like i said in the joints but then my thighs will ache when im on them to much.

I also want to add i do have an overload of yeast, could that be a problem as well.

    Re: Leg Pain!!!

Candida overgrowth can give you joint pain, yes.

Have you ever taken glucosamine/chondroitin? I started taking it last spring for my knee (which I messed up a long time ago, and all the running I did last year brought that old injury back) and haven't had joint pain since.

As you lose weight, your pain should naturally lessen. For every pound you lose, it takes 4 pounds of pressure off your joints.

      Re: Leg Pain!!!

Let me know if you find something, I have hip joint pain for the last couple of weeks myself. I have hips problems anyway, but I recall this happening the last time I was on this diet. Your joints need fluid for the cushion, and I suspect the diuretic effect of low carbo"hydrates" along with all the additional water (the more you drink the more your body wants to release the fluids) is the cause. I may try a joint drink, depending on what the ingredients are, saw an advert for it at the local grocery store.

Heres what I'm going to try.

        Joint Lubricant

I got it quite a bit cheaper at Walmart, although 13 dollars is a tad more than I had expected. There are a LOT of different products with Glucosamine Chondoritin. I chose this one because its one carb per tablet, Im going to start with just one a day.

Talked to the pharmacist to check on glucosamine, and it's a natural protein sugar that won't register a glycemic response. She said it should be fine. I figure it's worth a try, shouldn't have to live with joint pain to be thin.

I'm only bothered at night so I'll probably take it at dinner time.

          Re: Leg Pain!!!

From on pain sufferer to another....

I know the location you are referring to. It is in the lower back and the pain shoots out of it down your leg. I at least am assuming this by you describing its where your butt and leg connect. That is called the Sciatica. It is possible that you have a pinched nerve as I do. It is possible yes that its just a yeast overgrowth, or just a diet issue or even possibly just something you need to do for the joint but to me going by where the pain is it is more feasible to be sciatica issues.

Does the pain come up in sharp shoots , pinching, muscle ache in the area, debilitating pain such as having to bend to stretch it out? It can also radiate out towards the hip areas.

If you go to a chiropractor and have them measure your legs you may just find that one leg is shorter than the other cause your spine at the bottom to tilt in an odd fashion causeing sciatic pain. I have had this since I was 21 so I am pretty familiar with how the pain goes.

If I am misunderstanding what you mean by leg pain please let me know.

            Re: Leg Pain!!!

Just an update, the Joint Lubricant supplement I mentioned has worked like a charm for me. Very first night, took half dosage (1 tablet) at dinner time and was pain free the entire night. Skipped the next night to see if it would come back, and it did only very slightly. So 1 tablet every other night is going to do me.

No signs of triggers from it either, thank goodness! Thanks for this post otherwise I might not have decided to try something for it.

              Re: Leg Pain!!!

HI thank you all for responding. Ok i have had no leg pain since the last time i posted. I am on day 4 of eating clean, no processed or dairy and taking supplements something i wasnt doing before. Could it have been related someway to my yeast overload, i know i still have yeast but im fighting it and have felt better already, or is it my mind playing games with me. Now i have not tried walking a mile or so, so that might be the test i need, but before it would hurt just sitting.

                Re: Leg Pain!!!

Glad to hear the pain has cleared up for you. I posted a reply in another forum where the individual sounded like they were having intense leg cramps and pain.
I was on a blood pressure med that was primarily a diuretic. The Atkins program also acts, at least initially as a diuretic as well. I started experiencing some terrible leg cramps, soreness just under the buttocks where the backs of the thighs meet the rear, cramps along the inner thighs, and worst of all knee joint pain. ( some in hands too ) I was taking Ibuprofen several times a day for relief. I had been eating bananas as a source of potassium ( cramps caused by potassium loss ) while on the blood pressure medicine to battle the cramps but they are high carb and I had to quit. After losing about ten pounds on the Atkins program I quit the blood pressure meds. I also added taking some high potentcy vitamin B-12 ( in the vitamin section of most any store ) and it seemed to help a great deal. After getting of the blood pressure med, the cramps and joint pain have virtually gone away.
I had a physical a couple a weeks ago and the doctor said my blood pressure and chloresterol levels looked great. He told me to stick with Atkins for now but wants me to monitor my BP, and said come back in 3 months to check the blood levels. ( He is concerned about the high fat diet affecting chloresterol levels. The medical profession still can't believe that the diet actually lowers chloresterol, it flies in the face of conventional wisdom and the low fat diets they have been pushing. )
I am not a doctor, but if you are on meds that have a diruetic in them you may be experiencing some of the same issues I had. Potassium supplements and vitamin B-12 ( primarily for the nervous system ) sure helped me.
                Much success. Great pictures!
