  • getting back..

I never actually went "off" but I haven't exactly been eating the way I should and I feel it. I feel so much more sluggish and have been eating more and craving carbs for the past week or so. I haven't made it back to the gym and haven't been drinking my water as much either. Today however, I feel a little more enery than I have been but this feeling sucks compared the feelings I was getting a few weeks ago. The UMPH is gone and I need some help to regain it. I keep rereading my post saying how I'm ready.. I'm still 100% ready but actually.. now that I'm thinking about it.. it could be that I was taking Welbutrin and stopped because of the side effects, could that possibly be whats making me crave the carbs and making me less energetic and happy? quite possibly, now that I think about it. I need this.

    Re: getting back..

stick to this and make it work and you will see a huge difference I know that to be a fact. I started this way of eating in september of 07 and was on it for two months during which I lost 40+ lbs. I went into the owl levels and somewhere along the line I dropped this diet all together. You should think about getting a ticker from the ticker factory.com its really helpful in tracking your weight loss. Don't get discouraged because you have a lot to lose... I'm actually a bit envious... its said that those with more weight to lose lose quicker.

Try getting active and stick with this way of eating... its not easy at first. It takes 28 days to form new habits, that is a fact. Make it clean for 28 days or more and you'll find it gets easier because this way of eating has become a habit. When you get active , and I dont care whether you walk around the block, it helps motivate you and make it seem like you've accomplished something. For me 50% of my weightloss is mental. I feel better physically and mentally on this diet. Its beyond me why I ever stopped. I just plain feel better and you will too hon.

take care. P.M. me if you need an ear!

I agree, stick with it long enough to form it as a habit. I have only been at it since Jan 15, 2008. So far I have lost 22 lbs, and feeling and looking better already. I can even say, I make far less noise just breathing.
I broke down and ordered one of those total trainers to put in the room over the garage. I needed to get some exercise going, and since the winter weather has been so tough I wanted something I could do at my own pace and at my own convenience. I stalled a few weeks ago, but went down again over 5 lbs the last week. The trainer, ( I ordered one of the Bayou Pro Trainers over the internet ) is supposed to show up next Monday. Might as well tone up and lose some weight.
Let's face it, we need to lose the weight for physical health, but the mental satisfaction is going to be even greater when we look in the mirror and see that thinner face smiling back.

Keep up the good start, and swing for the fences.

Oh, one other thought. I am not a doctor, but as far as I know Wellbutrin will not be an inhibitor for weight loss. I know that some people experience appetite changes due to taking it. Some lose their appetite, some get hungry. Some people take it as an antidepressant, others have used it to quit the smoking habit. I know you should really watch taking it and consuming large amounts of alcohol. If you are on the Atkins program, the alcohol factor won't be an issue for awhile, since it is way off the list of acceptable items.

I will tell you, that some of the drugs used for hypertension, especially with diuretics will interfere with initial weight loss. I went off the meds for blood pressure shortly after losing the first ten pounds and my blood pressure actually went down. Just had my physical with the doctor and he was ecstatic with my blood pressure and chloresterol levels after losing the first 20 lbs. He said stick with Atkins for awhile, but wanted me to come back in three months to double check the results. Hope this helps. Catch you later.
