low carb beer?

I was wondering if low carb beer is still available? I drank it occasionally when I was low carbing before - but since I have been pregnant or breastfeeding for the last few years - I haven't even looked.

If not, for you beer drinkers - is there an alternative that is realitively low carb - and tastes good - thanks!

I'm pretty sure they do still make LC beer. If not, any "light" beer is generally low carb. Michelob Ultra is low in carbs, as is Rolling Rock Green Light. I can't drink beer anymore, but when I did, I would drink some stuff called Skinny Dip from New Belgium Brewing co. (a microbrewery out of Ft. Collins, CO) which was 7g per bottle.

I've also looked up stuff on www.realbeer.com since I HATE domestic beer and prefer microwbrewed or imported stuff.

Neihu, I'm sure you know this, but for everyone else, just remember that alcohol is not legal until Rung 5 of OWL.

Not sure where you are located, Though american light beer is low'er' carb as julie stated, I know that canadian light beer is not, it has 13 g's per bottle/can. If you are outside the us i'd doublecheck on your favourite beers website or on www.calorieking.com to see if your brand is lower.

American brewed beer is pretty watery(sorry..just telling it as i see it ) compared to Canadian beers and most imports i've tasted, so it's likely others will be higher carb.

In Canada we used to have 2 specifcally low carb beers but both are no longer available.

Theres a low carb mikes hard lemonade i dont know how many net carbs but its yummy.

I believe bacardi silver still has their low carb coolers. Its not beer I know but it gave me a good buzz last time I was on atkins. Most straight alcohols if they have carbs in them its very low.

Oh & a lot of people dont realize that bud select is a Low carb beer .. it only has 3.1 carbs per beer.. thats my fav.

This is a good list! I personally picked up Mic Ultra because at least it doesn't taste like water - LOL. But then I will only have 1-2 a night when I do drink which is MAYBE 2x per week. Also, I don't know why but I drank Corona Extra which has 15 carbs and I never gained anything - probably because it's watery....

But if you must have a drink - sometimes a simple diet soda with a clear alcohol is more than enough
