  • Sausages?!

    Hi everyone

    Re: Sausages?!

i have sausages from time to time although others have told me that you do have to watch the sugar content.....i think that from now on, if you want to have a sausage or two......you need to walk a mile and then do 50 crunches. that should equalize the playing field just in case

Even with that tiny content? the normal ones ive found are like 15g of carbs and sugars?? so i was sure these would be ok with 0.5g of carb and sugars??

Unless you can get suasages with absolutely no sugar or fillers, it'll be hard to get zero carb. I'd go with the 0.5 carbs ones (actually the ones I eat have 1g of carb) and not worry at all. Just be sure to count the carbs.

Chris is really great at compensating for things he maybe should not eat with massive amounts of exercise, but it isn't everybody's way! A couple of carbs from sausages, carefully accounted for in your daily carb total, is not a problem that needs any particular compensation.

The best you can get is pure pork/beef/chicken/turkey sausages. They usually contain no sugar, but really the only way to be sure you're getting pure is to either make it yourself or go straight to your local butcher. If the ones with half a gram of sugar don't cause cravings or stall you then they are probably the best you're going to find.

I tend to eat Beef sausage patties w/eggs frequent. They're really very low carb. Without them - I'd have troubles.

              I have sausages regularly.
              From Tesco!
Just by whichever has the lowest carb content and the least sugar (if any)
I'm losing weight continuously, so they should be ok.
Actually now, I'm buying Bratwurst from Lidl which are delicious. About 0.5g carb in each sausage. You can buy a normal version and a version with chilli. The chilli i nicer. I like to cut them in half and then do trhem on the George Foreman, makes them a bit more crunchier. Pork 91%, water, spices. Thank God for Lidl! There's great Atkins stuff in there...check it out!

They sound OK to me - just doublecheck by looking at the actual list of ingredients to make sure they have no starches or sugar added.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

I eat sausage without guilt. Sometimes I eat it in the morning, sometimes at night, sometims for lunch. Sometimes I snack on sausages. Who would have thought you can loose weight on sausages?!?! I found that the more spicy the sausage the lower the carb count, here in Japan. Nice spicy sausage with a few eggs, how can you say no?

I keep looking for a lower carb sausage at Tesco and I haven't been able to find a good one! I didn't think of looking in the frozen section...I'll have to try them too!

I used to have bacon a lot but it has a lot of sugar so I switched to sausages, for most morning. A lot of the sausages I buy have trace amounts of sugar. Although I just discovered today that my favorite ones have wheat bread crumbs in them, boooooo. Just goes to show you really gotta read those labels!!
