The recipe contains ingredients like horseradish and mustard, which are diuretics. So the only thing "whooshing" would be water---and digested food if your stomach is delicately sensitive to spicy foods.

Since the weight we want to lose is fat, I think you should only eat that "whooshie pie" if you like the ingredients in that combination. Otherwise, don't hang your hat on it as a way to lose the weight you want lost.

I remember when I was a newbie here at ADBB, a member reported she "whooshed" after eating tuna and mayo for a week. That became the fad "whooshie" food for a while. The "whooshie pie" has a similar origin. A member ate it and noticed a overnight weight loss of a couple of pounds after no movement on the scale for a week or two. She posted that the pie caused a "whoosh" .

That's the link to the recipe.

I personally did not really like it, just basically a big cooked hamburger with a filling off creamcheese, mustard, horseradish etc.

I agree with megs, I think it's the horseradish that helps being a diuretic.

I tried it simply because I saw the recipe, not because I was hoping for a "whooshie". I didn't like it--didn't have a whooshie either.. To each his own, I guess.

I didn't think it was that bad. The ingredients in combination were very, very strange but Its okay. It didn't cause me to spend a lot of time in the bathroom though. It was something very different. I've been thinking of doing it again except this time adding fresh or frozen spinach to it. I don't know who thought it up I never would have thought of it but i thought it was good... again not a good as everyone thought but it was good none the less. Try it see how you like it. Re: Whooshie Pie?

I like it and find the combination of ingredients tastes good!
But then I have always eaten horseradish sauce and mustard with roast beef anyway, so dont find it a strange combination

I sometimes make small 'wooshie-burgers' by sandwiching a spoonful of the filling between two homemade burgers.

It freezes well, so I usually make either 2 'pies' or a batch of the burgers at one time to save effort and have something for quick meals when I am short of time in the evenings.

I don't think I have ever experienced a 'woosh' from eating it though.

Elizellen have you ever put a vegetable in there with the cream cheese mix? I was thinking of spinach.

are you supposed to eat the whole wooshie pie or just part of it? I mean is the whole thing 1 serving.

                        Re: Whooshie Pie?

that was kind of a short answer sorry.. the phone rang in the middle of the post. You only eat part of it. Remember your daily allowances for cheese you cannot eat the whole pie without exceeding that limit. I think I only ate a quarter to 1/2 of it. My husband ate the rest. He said he liked it and would eat it again!

                          Re: Whooshie Pie?

I loved it (I'm the one who bumped it up in the recipes forum). I used less cream cheese so that I didnt waste a lot of my cheese allowance, and I absolutely love horseradish, so for me I thought it was awesome!

I'm going to have to try Elizellen's suggestion of making a little pie in between two hamburgers. Yum!

No whooshie for me though, as I know you were wondering.

Shari - I havent used a veg in it but think spinach would work well - a good way for getting those veggies in too!!

Surely you can't be expected to eat the whole pie in one sitting? I think I will eat a quarter at a time when I make it.
I also eat mustard (English) and horseradish with beef so think this sounds yummy!
